I kind of doubt it. The point of those two stories was that there was one character (one in each) who needed to realize they were in love. To be precise, Satou and Kana. At the end of the stories, Satou realizes she's in love with Miki and Kana realizes (really bittersweet, this one) that she had always loved Yoriko but, by realizing it too late, has screwed up any real chances she could have had with her. But, hey, there's always Mao... perhaps now Kana will be able to have a real romance with her?
Imho the author considers the main point of both tales solved, and it's unlikely that she will return to them.. (except if fans demand it really loudly, in which case, maybe?)

Nezchan, fair point, but when the people from the team who worked hard to bring this manga to us specifically ask us to talk about the manga itself and not start a debate on issues like real-life racism ― well, actually, I don't know what's your usual take on this, but... my own gut feeling is that it would be good etiquette to honor their wishes. Maybe it's just me...

Do you know who runrin is? Redrawer and typesetter. Worked like a mule on this manga (as there was a truckload of redrawing to do) just for you, just so that you (and other people like you) would be able to read and enjoy the story.

If you can't understand the rules to Twister, from a description, then you shouldn't be playing games. I mean isn't there really only two rules 1. Spin the spinner. 2. plase the body part on the color as shown on the spinner. We're not talking the rules to checkers here.

Hehe, modern kids. I'm reminded of the story of a young boy who was presented with a paper book for the first time in his life (he had never touched one of those before, all he knew was cellphones and e-readers) and, after opening it, started pressing his finger against the first page, rubbing it up and down, again and again. After some time, getting no reaction from the page, the boy declared in frustration that the paper book was malfunctioning or broken.

Perhaps Mai-chan, avid cellphone gamer that she is, was mystified by the idea of a game played on a huge paper board on the ground?

And now it turns out that she doesn't understand the Pocky game either. >_<

Kids these days, gosh. I bet next chapter will start with Mai saying: "Oneechan, I don't understand the King game, so let's play just the two of us, ok?"

The mangaka is also the author of Teiji ni Agaretara, which is a totally amazing series – that definitely deserves more love than it gets – about adult women coming to terms with their newly discovered lesbian desires and feelings.
If it's by her, I'm willing to read a comic about watching grass grow. :D

It obviously hasn't.

Eleven chapters of this great manga are out already, exploring the deep, complex, psychologically realistic love story between two adult women. We have about 80 comments, three pages and a half.

Meanwhile, The Mute Girl and Her New Friend has released a grand total of 16 pages of manga (in 4 chapters of 4 pages each) about cute silly schoolgirls doing cute things and being silly. There are more than two hundred enthusiastic comments, and the number is explosively growing.

It mildly annoys me.

Qué formato curioso para un manga japonés, me sorprende que cada capítulo reúna todas las páginas en un sola imagen jpg, una tras otra en hilera vertical... Es un formato que yo asocio más bien con el manhwa coreano... Pero supongo que el editor/diagramador tuvo sus razones para presentarlo de esta manera en vez de en páginas separadas y en un archivo zip.

Pero bah, eso no importa, lo que importa es agradecerte el espléndido regalo y desearte feliz navidad a tí y a todos los hispanohablantes que escribimos aquí. ¡Felicidades a todos!

School might also have a ban against smartphones (unless they were in a scene somewhere, I didn't check). Either way I wouldn't be surprised if some genuinely preferred this method.

I may be just getting old, but phones are primarily associated with calling people for me, so a mute person having one didn't even come to mind as a possibility. Might be the same for her and/or her parents as well, so even if it actually does have useful features, they'd just dismiss it as a silly idea without even realizing there's more to it.

Of course, tablets might still be a similar good idea with a more readable screen for "talking" with people.

Oh, it IS a good idea. I remember there exist lcd writing/drawing pads (or tablets) which are particularly and specifically designed for deaf-mute people communication.

Yeah but works better when the series is super carefree or full comedy ... I think is just to make this story work, like, is not impossible but is not a very smart way to go about it realistically.

But it's not supposed to be bombproof realistic! Only to be cute. One of them acts like a grade school boy with a crush, the other acts like an adopted puppy, they don't think about using telepathy to get rich, or using cellphones to communicate when you can't speak, or telling the kitchen staff about the mute girl's disability... none of these are especially realistic.

We prolly should just remember Hodgson's Law – "do not worry about details that are irrelevant to the enjoyment of the story" – and relax. :D
