Im not dissapointed. For me, this was a nice travelogue, with some meaning stuffed behind it, although secondary. The afterword practically said it all: 2 girls and ruins. We can still only guess what happened, but i think its pretty clear that they moved on, or maybe will confront the issue directly in the near future together.

Mokou is over a thousand years old, Gensokyo was established a century ago(the barrier at least). This is well before she met Kaguya again.

Oh, this is a before thing. When did they mention Mokous current age though? And I guess without the historical knowledge, I really cant understand much of it.

Unless chapter 14 is not the last one like someone else said or it is a lot longer than the prior ones, I guess a lot of things will be left up to interpretation. Well, I dont mind, I really enjoy the travelling around. ´adventure´ tag really is just here.

Boy do I hate it, when people take pictures of me without my consent. Ill literally rip their phones/cameras out of their hand to delete it, if I have to. Mizuki should really be more assertive, although I guess with someone who actually does not have wifi, it doesnt matter that much.

Dont forget, its officially a doujin, what ZUN creates I mean. Any fan work has the same canonity (is this a word?) if you so desire. After all, Gensokyo accepts all. So whether you take this as canon, or maybe the work of komachi and akyuu (which are both great, but contradict each other) is up to you.

Just to clear this up so no one gets the wrong idea but yes, Touhou has an official canon.

Doujin only means self published and ZUN has stated numerous times that there is a canon. In fact Strange Creator Doujins have an introductory page that states that they are non-canon which we omit from the typeset.

The official canon includes the Window Games, official manga like Foul Detective Satori, Forbidden Scrollery and Lotus Eater, the fake in-universe like Bohemian Archive in Japanese Red and Perfect Memento in Strict Sense and information provided by ZUN in interviews. I think there is a bit more too like the stories with Merry and Renko and such.

It's fine to have a head canon but it's false to tell people Touhou has no canon, fan works are just fan works.

Then assuming everything you said is correct, Ill have to agree with you, that its a shame ZUN does not revisit old characters or flesh them out more.

I wonder what happens (or rather, it did already happen, but what would follow), if ZUN contradicts himself? Would gensokyo explode?! (Im just joking here.)

Well, azami technically never said that mizuki ís supposed to be a replacement. It was her sister who imposed such an idea and through the power of freindship, coincidentally mizuki overheared this, assuming the sister was right.

More Plot! Maybe today is the day I die, because asumi, the tiles i cannot cut and dystopia all uploaded at once!

And now I see, where the dramas gonna come from. I think I know what happened. Her little sister died or changed drastically to be practically dead (as in, no more the same), so her parents tried to make Mizuki the same way her sister used to be. So she became another replacement. Now she faces the same problem again: Another replacement for another person she really is not.

And I guess the person above me actually had another sound theory. Well, lets see what the author has in store for us.
The little sister could be metaphorical for her past self, too. Then, what she means is, that her past self is the complete opposite of her current self, and her past self was only a replacement for something else.

Btw, the title of ch. 11 reawakenend my ptsd of Advent cirnos last chapter 'Break time'. Oof. But at least this is already completed haha

Wait, right. Keine could technically change the outcome of the match afterwards. Thats actually as broken as Remilia, if not more. But of course, this isnt gonna happen here, otherwise thered be no point in playing.

I hope we get some kind of sexual scene with every character that has apppeared, even the side characters. Reading through prior comments kind of invalidated my criticism, but Ill say it anyway: I was kind of hoping that the author would explore all kinds of fetishes (at least those that apply for the general audience), and be more abrupt. I know, this was a lot more Top-Bottom play than prior chapters, but I still feel like it was repetitive.

Okay, so I know this is almost certainly not the case, but what if Azami was trans? That would explain the few fond memories and the “I cannot tell you, not won’t but can’t” line as well.

So this is me being probably illiterate, but in japanese, is it possible to deduce ones gender by name only? If anything it would be the family name, and even the first name seems to only be preferred for a gender, but is normally free for both.

Hope the resistance, as in Kokomi, turns out to be the true villain and backstabs all of them. She's so fit to be a tyrant, it would finally twist all that romanticism behind revolution. Realistically speaking, the banner release date for Baal suggest as much.

ch. 10 page 29: a long way(s) to go. An 's' is too much. Or you could say long ways to go with an 'a'.

Either way, I guess for someone as simple minded as me, the author really has to spell everything out for me, huh? So something something about a perhaps dead travel partner. Or maybe dead not in the biological sense? But rather as dead as all the other things theyve visited, basically, its served its use. Considering its been five years since the house burnt down, was her death related to that? But unless her death happend after the burn down, did Azami actually travel 5 years basically alone (maybe with one or two temporary travel companions)? Thats hardly conceivable, especially since she's still seemingly visiting new places close by.

And Mizuki is even weirder. She left her place for good. What could possibly lead to that, since otherwise she seems to be perfectly fine. At the beginning there were some flashbacks about a girl leaving her behind after graduation, but that would be one wack reason to actually run away from everything.

Well, maybe there'll be more plot next time around. This chapter was already quite a dump of new information and it broke the 'tradition' of visiting new places each chapter. Maybe its fine if we never get to know all the reasons behind their current life style. I think it takes the romanticism (as in: the literary style) away.

Keine actually murderd Kaguya here. Took 4 pages I think, of talking to Mokou and ignoring Kaguya.

Ah, yes, of course. Although the artstyle kinda makes everyone look natural, so I didnt even realize the difference. (In manga its normally pretty extreme with bust sizes.) Stil, are people really that worried about bust size...

Huh, so the author actually visits the places in this book himself, rather than just going off their mind or googling scenery. Thats really cool.

And Lastly, arent the thinking boxes at the first page of the chapter 9 with: "So this is Azami's friend..." the thoughts of that new woman? If she really did know Azami's real name, why think of her as Azami? Is the lie here, that Azami is in fact her real name?

Watagiris humour was great even back in the day.

A lot of people like to complain about Reimu's cluelessness. It seems bad at first but, isn't it also a good thing for her that she is free from the anxieties and the weight of maintaining her role as shrine maiden? Assuming that Gensokyo and it's denizens are out of harm's way? Even as of now(chapter 19). She didn't need to do a thing, and everything just resolved itself. Why care about her troubles of thinking sharp as long as she has something of benefit to receive from it?

Ignorance is a soft pillow indeed. It's just weird for people knowing the old Reimu to watch her be clueless, is all.

Btw, Miyoi is the reason Mystia went bankrupt, change my mind!

So, how much time did pass between 1st and 7th chapter? Mizuki at least completely changed her attire, and considering the travels, it might have been over a week. But where were they resting? And wheres the money coming from? (Something Mizuki wondered herself.) They should have to go at least to inns, to keep appereances up as depicted in this manga.

^True, but what are you gonna do with someone whos supposedly immortal. Anyone else will die/disappear, only those, who per definition will last, will last. (Although infinite is obviously quite bold a claim to make.)
