It is pretty nice and not that bad. It's not reinventing the whole romance genre, but it has some new dynamics I haven't seen until now.

Also, I really don't understand the complaints about "guy's cheating = easy cop out" or whatever. The author is not competing in a fight or puzzle solving contest, nor aiming to win a prize or whatever. Why would the fact they don't make something really intricate diminish the quality of the story? Plus, it's not like it wasn't made clear from the start the husband wasn't really involved in the relationship. But I have the feeling we'll be going in circle soon enough with this debate.

Too late probably, but I also wanted to make a reference to the moment he hit the wall with his fist, asking himself what he is doing. He knows he is doing something wrong, cheating is the most likely candidate.

On top of that, Kaoru can't even enunciate what she loves about him, and I'm willing to bet that the mental block there is that what she loves about him is -Uta-. I think Reiichi knows that Uta loves Kaoru, and I think he suspects that Kaoru isn't really that into him, or at least is also into his sister. So it really isn't that surprising that he'd be drawn to his old ex flame, who probably resents the hell out of the circumstances that took him away from her, and who is legitimately interested in him and him alone.

Still hoping for this interpretations, somehow. But we really need to wait for what happened in the past, I'm still thinking of an affair or something along those lines (because of the framed picture in the chapter I don't remember).

Mh. Much as I like the "wtf"-feeling of it, it also feels a bit random. "Yeah, let's just go with that, whatever..."

It allows for more interpretations, just like the wet dreams/masturbation stuff. Doesn't mean that was the author's message, who probably just wanting to do something weird, but it still is a fun activity.

I had time to think more about my own (silly) interpretation. Perhaps it has to do with the feeling of powerlessness when you want to help someone close, but you realise that you can't or that you are not needed.

We see the roommate struggling with nightmares before she splits, similarly to somebody struggling with their problems right before they decide to face them. Then the munching part is when they decide to attack them head-on, we could see the eating part as both fixing and accepting your problems. In the end, the roommate seems quite happy after she ate her other "problem" self : she made her problems go away since her other self doesn't exist in the proper sense, but in a way, her problems are still present in herself as she accepted them (literally) in her.

In summary, a problem arise in the roommate life (a nightmare), she takes a step back (split) to face her problem head on, she fix them (ate them) and accept them (digesting) - I think this a weak point of my interpretation, since I think you should accept your problems before fixing them, but why not. And after all that, she feels relieved or somewhat satisfied and goes back on living (sleeping).

Meanwhile, the MC is observing her roommate, somewhat fascinated by how she is resolving her problems alone, perhaps kind of frustrated because she can't really do something significant to appease her. She tried once to help her (nibbling her) when she was having problems (nightmares) but realised that it was useless, that "[She isn't] good enough." only leaving her roommate still struggling with her problem, who does seem to be still struggling in p10, when the MC failed to eat her.

In the end, the only thing the MC could do is watch helplessly as her roommate is dealing with her problems, no interfering, comforting her and being there for her when she has dealt with her problems - by caressing the belly which contains the digested other self (the problems).

The message could be something along those lines : the problems or the anxiety your friend/lover is experiencing can only be effectively dealt with by the concerned party, you can't deal with them (eat them) for the other. All you can do is be there to support them and help them "recover" somehow - this is illustrated by caressing the belly while the roommate is digesting, apparently it helps with the digestion to massage the belly in a clockwise rotation (by martial art energetic philosophy and perhaps supported by some scientific articles with more grounded results).

Of course, it's missing some important stuff like sometime you can be the one giving the nudge for the affected party to finally deal with their problem, and perhaps other stuff I haven't considered, but I'm quite happy with that!

I really dislike vore, but this was kind of an interesting and, relatively speaking, sweet one shot. I guess this doesn't really qualify as such, though, no real pleasure experienced from that. It's more like a snake eating its dead skin or whatever.

Is the MC sad of not being able to help her roommate? Is this a message to tell people they can only be helped by themselves first and foremost, eating away our demons and negative feelings?...

I don't know why, but I really dig the "girl playing in a concert notice her love interest in the audience and get affected by it" scene of p24. They did it as well in I don't care about the music, it was very sweet.

I guess it has to do with the other affecting them so much, they lose their composure and/or break their scene character.

@Ackerman, everything you're saying could work but it seems a little bit too far-fetched to really hold together. The simple thing would be that Reiichi is indeed cheating. I mean, there's innocent until proven otherwise, but that does seem like the soundest option story wise.

What about lying about the fact that he's back? If he's not cheating, he clearly doesn't really want to see Kaoru that much, at the very least. Not really trying to defend the guy, he doesn't need though, he seems affected enough by her accident : that reveals some kind of affection, maybe not love but at least some thing.

On the other, why the fuck won't they talk about what ARE they?!

Do they really need words? It's pretty obvious what is happening, I guess. If they're not, I guess they can indulge themselves in pleasure a little bit before getting into serious discussion.

I still praise it. It's still good as this is a transition chapter, so no problem. But I don't expect it to revolutionise the entire genre, so I'll probably love it whatever happens.

I'd love them to be alone to sort their feelings out, though, either they end up together or not. (I think I remember somebody saying the author claimed that "this is a yuri story after all", so...)

Yeah, how dare they civilly state their structured and well-grounded opinion on the subject that happens to be negative. Even if repetitive, they haven't done anything against the rules. Much less insulted anyone.

It was starting to get old with everyone standing on their grounds, etc. The discussion was clearly going nowhere and was stuck in an infinite loop. I guess antagonizing only cannibal is kind of unfair, though. Let's wait for new chapters for him to happily bash the story senseless! I'll be busy enjoying it :3

You actually made me want to read Stretch now. I'm less sensible to yuri bait/tease/whatever, but even I have feelings. However, with your outlook on the story, I think it could be enjoyable.

Yuzumori-san is a different case. The best outcome is probably they stay friends only, and some distant epilogue has them getting together.

That'd make me sad, unless we see their story as adult but that'd remove the whole lolicon/oneeloli stuff, or whatever it is written, which is probably the main interest of the story.

The second-best outcome is a sneaking relationship relationship which would make the series even more dramatic than it is already.

The teasing moments before Ririha's arc were pretty funny even if you feel the struggle of Mimika during those. I'm not sure it could result only in becoming more dramatic, there should be more dramas of course. After all it's a love that is frowned upon, with all the interrogations and introspection there have been, it'd be strange to see them being all lovey-dovey and indulging in their mutual love without any problems.

I'd love to see that struggle with part-time sweet moments, like in Hoshikawa Ginza District 4. How to deal with their feelings despite what is happening. Staying at just being friends with everything that happens would feel like a let down.
