The thing about insecurity is the hardest person to approach constructively is the person you're insecure about. I think Kayoko knows she needs to talk to Kaori but her thoughts are probably a bit of a mess when it comes to the topic so it's actually good that she's trying to figure it out first with a friend. I think Kayoko trusts Kaori but her self esteem has always been wobbly so this is just her facing the repercussions of not building up her self esteem. The friend probably knows this too so what she's doing now is a good way to get things going so Kayoko doesn't eventually self destruct. And if she has other intentions, I see no foul. Mostly it's coz I feel the MCs are pretty solid all things considered.

For me, subtext is annoying when an author is obviously queerbaiting but then leaves it as subtext to also keep the homophobic side of a fan base.

I think that cliffhanger wasn't meant to be subtext but it's just their narrative. Tbh, my initial reaction was "Ahhhhh Don't leave me hanging like that! Show me the confession." But then immediately after, I thought it was kind of nice to leave it there. That's cause I decided that the author intended the confession to have gone through. I mean don't mainstream romance movies/manga/etc end like this too. It's just that in yuri, we're so used to best friend cop outs that there's a more pronounced need for vindication.

Granted, I can see why this was confusing in some parts. I was lost sometimes because I think they intentionally skipped through scenes to emphasize the lack of connection in those "channels" but I think that could've been done better.

Personally, I don't care much about how rushed it is coz it got axed so it was just inevitable. Clearly the author didn't intend the pace to be like this so I'm more sad than angry about it.

I don't know why Nozomi having a boyfriend is hitting me harder than the marriage. Maybe it's because there were hints that Moe and Hikari's love were mutual at a point but not acted on (completely). But then Miyu's is one sided which hurts a bit coz I spent the entire time cheering for her because Nozomi might just feel the same! But I guess not or she just never thought about it. Ahhhh :(

I'm not complining. This makes sense. It just hurts. I'm just glad my favorite couple was in the last page. IwashitaXTsubasa close second so I'm a little cushioned from these sunken ships.
