There's a difference between cursing the author and/or the readers for enjoying a story that doesn't comply to common morals, and discussing how a character's actions encourage a behaviour that —supposedly— she herself also condones. The way she approached this does make sense for her character, that's why people are annoyed at her. How she worded her rejection implied that the only thing stopping her from dating her student was the fact that she's already in a relationship. That's not how this situation should have been handled to guarantee that she won't have a problem with this student later on. I liked that she decided to talk to her, but she shouldn't have let her hold on to hope like she did.

You're not wrong, but you're also looking at it from an adult's point of view. Nakanishi clearly considers herself to be mature enough for a relationship with Kaede, she explicitly asked Kaede to date her, and so to her "you're a student and I'm your teacher" would sound like a lame excuse. That's part of the problem here -- she's still too immature to understand why a student/teacher relationship is wrong. So by approaching her on her own terms, "as an adult," Kaede is able to explain herself in a way Nakanishi can understand and accept.

yeah like, considering the last couple chapters, on top of her own experience with unrequited love, Kaede was obviously rejecting Nakanishi on a level she'd be able to accept rather than outright stating a teacher cannot date their student.

And sure this leaves the "implication" that Kaede could have dated Nakanishi if she hadn't already been dating someone, if you discard the previous four chapters which were largely about how a teacher should not date their students, both morally and legally.

Well the obvious implication of "a teacher cannot date their student" would be "well then I'll try to get with her once I graduate", which people understandably also object to.

All this goes to show that MC is flawed. She’s got good intentions— but those good intentions make the student think “I have a chance still” which imo, giving false hope, is worse than coldly turning them down.

Giving someone hope only to take it away later just seems more cruel than setting the record straight while their expectations are nonexistent

The fact that blondie texts her everyday, asking her “Tonight?” Just for sex— when, she could easily just go visit her herself + she’s got off vibes makes me think that as well. It’s only for the sex she’s interested in her

So, I decided to create a timeline cuz I noticed that the postcards are a month late exactly and I feel like it’d help have a clear timeline of when she first writes the postcards would be cool to have (also I have nothing better to do lol)

February 3rd is Postcard day, and since the cards are a month late, Jan 3rd is when the timeline starts (or when I assume it’d be a good place to start)

Jan 3rd- Hinami receives the postcard from her future self

Jan 8th- Hinami starts writing postcards documenting her experiences. This is when her powers are first acknowledged and when she begins trying to enter the real world

Jan 10th- Hinami successfully makes it to the real world, the “who?” Is the guardian that she defeated that day

Jan 11th- Hinami finds the creator and alters his brain (and tortures him)

Jan 16th- Hinami writes about her powers getting stronger along with the popularity of the manga

Jan 23rd- Hinami writes of monitoring author while he draws the manga

Jan 27th- Hinami confirms that Tsukino ignored her marriage proposal

Jan 28- She’s discovers other authors who treat their characters poorly and says she’s gonna make them all suffer

Feb 3rd- Hinami discovers the authors original plan for the manga, and acknowledges the postcard
