Yep. When I was talking with Ratana about characters, I mentioned how Mew is confident about herself being gay and that I have a feeling she knew about being gay at very young age. And Ratana told me that I am right about it :)

Her character just has that aura. I know what I want and I've known for a long time. You are what I want and now I'll do everything I can to keep you. I love P'Mews confidence, very attractive quality.

Well anybody have predictions on what's gonna happen next? Like what's gonna happen, no rae and ex bae start talking again or seol a pulling her soul mate aside and trying to lay out the truth again

Maybe it was he felt pressure to enlist in the military but didn't tell No-Rae until right before he left. Would make sense to "how could he do that to me?". I think she said something like that. Don't quote me on it. Just a theory.

Regarding the marvelous discussion going on... I'd love to point out that in a yuri manga, comic, game, fanfiction, mawha, anime, etc... is SO cliché for the two girls to end up together, and it is even worse when they're the main characters. Also, I'm not taking sides, I'm just saying...

And... I'd like to see how the ex arc is going to develop. I don't remenber why they broke up, but I told a friend and she said she was sure he had to go to the military. Yet, I think they broke up because he cheated on NoRae with someone, and since SeolA seems to know him from somewhere... Yeah, well.

I remember seeing that somewhere that he cheated on No-Rae. I hope it wasn't Seol-A. That would be the worst...but this is a drama so I can see that as another plot twist.

Somehow, while I love the characters, as I said numerous times, the plot devices Ssamba uses are a bit too artificial. I see the ropes there. Overearing conversations in the classroom, check. Riding a Ferris-wheel, check. Truck-san killing, or injuring, a character, check (twice). Interrupted in the middle of a confession, check. I feel like I've read this kind of devices in a million shoujos

I still like it, but she doesn't aim for originality. Same sins than Lily Love.

I'll probably be flamed to death by the FF fans, but oh well, once I've read this chapter, I was like..."hmmm, where did I read something like that before? Oh right... EVERYWHERE!"

your 100% right that Ssamba uses cliché situations in her writing. Which are seen in many romance manga and movies. But, what sets her manga apart for me, is that her characters are not artificial. They feel like real people that you would meet in university and converse with them. Ssamba does the two main characters really well, that you empathise with their struggles and emotions.

It doesn't feel like some high school manga. It feels real. The pace even feels pretty realistic. Not everyone falls in love over night. Sometimes it takes a long time. I really enjoy that part about Ssambas work. Both characters struggle with whatever life events they have and it's expressed in subtle lip movements or facial expressions. I've been drawing since I was 7 and I still can't accomplish something like that. Her plot devices are not the best but, she makes up for it in character design and pure talent. Those are only two reasons that keep me coming back for FF.

Idolon scares me... it look like it will have so much angst and drama and probably some complicated love trangle/square/any complicated geometric figure

It's ironic that one of the biggest threads on this forum is about a non-yuri manga.

You know, I begin to wonder if the people calling this non-yuri, particularly after the last chapter, have even bothered to read the story.

After all, there's a lot there that points to Ran being gay as hell for Keiko. The honmei choco, the dream, the naked hug, a lot of little hints that get passed off as jokes. There's really no doubt about how Ran feels. As for Keiko, she's been very close with Ran all the way through, and says as much on several occasions. But most significantly in the last chapter she acknowledges the naked hug happened and doesn't make fun of Ran for it. In context, that's Keiko taking it seriously.

And now, while there hasn't been an actual confession they have made it clear they'll remain in touch and Keiko gets to have time separated from the situation to work it out in her own head. Exactly like she did with her other major issues, her ex and her mom.

I didn't even think about that until you mentioned it! Great point. Stepping out of a situation is the best way to gain insight. Keiko has the character type to not make rash judgments or decisions, this could very well be her way of processing her relationship/friendship with Ran. Who knows what we might get in the future.

Personally, I find it difficult not to see this as basically a standard yuri story, just with the last couple of pages missing. Sure, we didn't get a confession or a kiss, but the door's wide open. That's why I think the "It's not yuri, HA HA!" (insert Nelson Muntz gif here) crowd is at the very least more wrong than the "Why didn't they have science babies" faction.

But that ambiguity and subtext isn't what bugs me about the ending, as I've said several times before.

You do have a point. While there wasn't any blatant kissing or confession, subtext was deeply implanted in this series. Especially, the comments about them being a "married couple". Lol.

I actually feel better about it now.
