These manga about dieting and weight loss would be infinitely more compelling if the weights in question were actually healthy and not cripplingly underweight.

The awful and backwards idea that one must be proactively and unfailingly accommodating of everyone else's circumstances so as to not bother them, regardless of how unique or unreasonable those circumstances are. If you're not, it's "your" fault.

If the angry twin's issue really is just that she thinks her sister is amazing but doesn't appreciate it enough herself, that means the "issue" causing the conflict is entirely hers and the sister isn't really to blame for anything since she's not doing anything wrong at all. It's the angry twin who's reacting badly to her sister being perfectly normal and then somehow reasoning her way to blaming her twin for it rather than face the fact that it's her own personal issue.

It's much more serious than just average teenage emotions being irrational, she need professional help. The extent to which she's mean to her sister is borderline abusive.

And I still have no idea why one of them hates the other so much! She's been waaay too mean for it to be something as dumb and simple as "You're better than me so I hate you" when the nicer twin is so openly friendly all the time, being so mean over just that would go beyond just pettiness.

MHA has plenty of non-sexualized female characters, as well as sexualized male characters and vice versa.

Seems really interesting, but I'm not feeling how much the deaf girl goes off on long-winded and pretentious speeches that no one in real life would just sit there and listen to. Even for someone speaking in japanese (which is a very structured language), all her dialogue so far is just weirdly long and unnaturally precise.

Hoping she gets less preachy and more authentic as the story goes.

To me it felt more like she has memorized a script to use in these kind of situations. Keeps people away so she wont have to deal with them.

That is precisely what I meant, only phrased better.

I get the distinct impression it's more that the author is failing to translate the sentiments they want the character to express into natural-ish dialogue, than the character intentionally quoting a paragraph of memorized text.

It's the kind of writing I'd expect to see from a teenaged newbie writer trying to write their first edgy character, but due to their inexperience, it just comes out as a pretentious "someone who understands humans and society better than anyone else but no one understands them, so they're tortured but super brave and cool and intelligent and only the main character understands how much they understand about everything" character.
