I think the author (or maybe the translation team) is using that term as a sort of shorthand as it's widely known what a vampire is and what they consume for sustenance. Saying "blood-sucking butterfly demon" or even "papiliodemon" every other panel is cumbersome, for lack of a better word.

Out of curiosity - on the credit page, is yen often written 'en' in katakana like that? I know it comes from the word for round but isn't it normally just expressed with ¥ ?

I can't say how commonly it is written in katakana, because I've only seen it written as 円　（えん） in more official contexts, but that is pretty common, maybe even more common than the yen sign, as far as I know.

Someone with more knowledge than I may correct me.

The title is correct. It elides (shortens) a sentence that might otherwise read "I do [action] so that flowers may bloom" and the adverb 'so' can even be omitted, usually for higher register settings like poetry (i.e. I watered my garden that flowers may bloom). Yes, English is a beast. I'm a native speaker and think it sucks. Vive le français! hehehe
