^^ You mean serval :) But yes this is almost always true with cat/animal girls - they look really weird without the human ears.
And I REALLY want to see this happen in s2 :)

^A neat thing about Inuyasha is that he actually didn't have human ears except when he turned human. But then he was drawn with hair covering where his ears would be anyway so it wasn't all that noticeable.

Most of the girls in Kemono Friends, other than a few whose ears are covered (like Gray Wolf) or their animal doesn't have visible ears anyway (like Shoebill), have four visible ears. It's kind of weird, and opens up all kinds of fan speculation about how their hearing works.

^They look a lot weirder with no human ears if it isn't covered with hair. As for how they work - well, they clearly work as ears, at least in kemono friends - you see them twitching at sounds etc. But you also can't have holes in the tops of their skulls - there is no room on the top for ear canals or all the inner ear stuff unless you have like 30% of their brains missing lol. So lets just say their animal ears work by magic.
