Oh... I LIKE this one. Adding yet another voice to the "more please!"

did we just get tooru boob?

Yup... Might be good to add a corresponding label for those in places that see that as something offensive. (silly for a boob, but some companies / institutions in some countries have a fit over the most minor of things)

I've heard of fingering but.. toeing? Is that what it's called? Lol. Well this deserves a fav.

Well, it would seem Kyouko and Sayaka are at least somewhat aware of it...

I think it's nice to have a story where the relationship is "out" for a change. Feels like it's usually either treated as a secret or the story revolves around the couple to the point that it doesn't matter what their friends think. This has a similar vibe to The Collectors in that sense.

I prefer an easy start to an long more realistic beginning just to get some damn relationship afterwards stories, which are even that damn rare in main het stories romances

Meh, lathering on the GAYAAAAAAAAAANGST is so trite by this point, it doesn't strike me as much fun to write or read. I'm quite happy to read a series that dispenses with it, like Lily Love or Kase-san and actually deals with other relationship issues instead.

I agree with this. It doesn't feel like there's many new shoes to tread that ground with, and I'd rather read something different than something cliche, even if the cliche is more logical.

All of this. I don't understand why some people defend those realistic but overdone cliches. Just a little is good, but no when they are entire focus of the story.

Agree. It's not as if most of the gayangst stories are in any way realistic either. Most stories completely ignore it or focus on the characters worrying about whether they are gay or not, but rarely will they tackle the question as to how the people around the characters will react. Stories like Sorairo Girlfriend touch on it, but after a couple of panels with bullying, everyone makes up and suddenly all are okay with it. Stories that show how the outside world can sometimes be truly unaccepting seem few and far between, with at a couple of scenes coming to mind in: Prism, Komochi no Katachi, as well as Husky and Medley (okay, so that last one might be cheating a bit, as it is at least nominally based on a true story). Of course I am sure I missed one or two, but that should not invalidate the point.

Personally I like stories that give us a bit of utopia by showing frank acceptance by the environment. Heck, nowadays I've actually had some friends who really did get that sort of reaction at their school when they came out. It is still rare, but something to strive for. Lily Love shows just such a world, and I am happy that it does.

That not everyone can relate to the characters is, in my mind, an entirely different discussion. Personally I love both P'Mew and Donut, and can emphasise with their various difficulties, but if some find one or the other somewhat colourless, then that is absolutely their right. I merely think that the story would gain very little from sudden gayangst, and would actually lose part of its charm from the simple and straightforward interaction between the characters.

(Also I'm biased, seeing as my Lily Love mugs have just arrived in the country, and I should get my hands on them once customs is finished admiring them... ;) )

P’Mew is just so evil to be teasing poor innocent Donut like that... I love it! 

I get why you don't like that but these characters are always japanese, it's a lot easier for asians to look androgynous or like a girl wih some make up, but some examples in manga are really hard to believe, specially when they're adults and more beautiful than woman without using any kind of make up.

That is a tad too easy an explanation to be honest. If you are ever in Tokyo and go to Shinjuku Ni-chōme in the evening you will see that, while it may indeed be just a bit easier on average, for many it is still rather difficult to pull off. Usually it is the exceptional cases that you get to see images of, not the norm. It is also important to remember that even if Japanese cis men on average may seem little more androgynous by "western" standards, the comparison is always one within the culture they live in, so they will compare themselves to Japanese cis women, not western ones.

Oh. And of course youth plays a huge role in the whole thing as well. The younger you are the more likely you can pull off cross-dressing, and the easier it is to transition if that is what you desire.

This is a fantasy world. So maybe he can hide it completely by magic. Lets not dive into what can and cannot be in that strange world.

Actually ..seeing a "mushroom" ;) in a world full of mushrooms ..is it really that strange? :0

Still better than drag queen.

And there's no such thing as trans girls. To me they are just girls.

Hm. Not sure I would necessarily agree to be honest.* To me drag queens are performers who use that term to express the type of performance that they specialise in. Drag kings are male acts, drag queens female acts, and in both cases some of the performers are straight cis females / straight cis males. The term itself is not really derogatory.

I agree with Nezchan's assessment that the term "trap" carries some unpleasant connotations though. First and foremost of course the very strong implication of intentional deceit. That sort of thinking has actually gotten transwomen killed, as their potential partners saw them as trying to trick them (and don't get me started on the fact that some countries / states actually accept that as a frigging legal defence, both in the case of homosexuals and trans* people).

That being said, I still enjoy the heck out of Prunus Girl and adore Sazanami Cherry. So while I dislike the term, I do prefer it to many an alternative that authors / scanlators might use.

*with the first statement, the second sentence I would like to bold, highlight, and add a dozen "agree" stamps all over.

So.

Het ending, then?

Maybe Harem?

Considering a potential implication of the last page of chapter 2 I'm somehow tempted to think that futa-cat might be added to those tags...

Oh my... Afraid my reaction was very much like Donut's at the bottom page 15 after reading this one. :)

Can't wait for volume 1 to be published in English as well.

(on a side note: lwnshop is incredibly slow when accessing it from Europe, hope the payment methods will go beyond pure bank transfer at some point, in particular for volume 1)

Inuzuka Bouru has, over time, singlehandedly managed to introduce and convince me of this ship... Love the pairing and that pic.

Promising beginning. I like it. :)

Wild theory: I happened to watch a bit of Love Live! before stumbling on this one, and was wondering whether I am the only person who is somehow put in mind of a graduated Tsubasa (Kei) and Alisa (Emi)? Not sure why, but something about the way they are drawn reminds me of the two. In terms of wild theory that would also explain the dancing reference, and would point to the person Emi was planning to meet as Yukiho. end of completely obscure speculation

To meet family obligations, expectations, and appearances I have read a number of times that lesbians in Japan get married, have children, and all the while have a secret relationship on the side with the woman they love.

I can confirm that part, having met a few women, mainly in the girlfriend position, who are in exactly that type of situation over the past few weeks in the corresponding bars in Tokyo... From that perspective the story seems all too realistic, or at least would be for Japan (no idea what the situation in Thailand is tbh).

Aw. It's here! :)

Quoting from the yaoi-blcd tumblr post (scanlators of Tanjiu's "Their Story" who featured this too a little while ago):

"i believe this one's based on the artist and her wife. her profile says hope i can continue to draw until we are married!"

Hm. I'm a bit surprised that this does not carry an Ecchi as well, considering that it is potentially somewhat more risqué than the other Itsuki Love Live! doujin published at the same time. In particular that last page is rather suggestive; or just blatantly obvious, ymmv.

(also: am I the only person slightly bothered by the use of "unconsciously" on the third page? IMHO that should read "subconsciously", although being unconscious would technically of course also preclude the other members from seeing Honoka...)

Man this is goooooood, but BUT when will we ever get to see Hiyoko giving Sato-chan some much deserved luvin'? It pains me to not see her be on the receiving end even once.

Maybe she's only really interested in dishing it out. There are people like that out there.

Considering that this time we at least see her grinding against Hiyoko's leg, I think that her stone butch status is slowly crumbling...

I love the art, especially the cover!

Agree.

The double spread with the dresses actually got a spontaneous "wow..." from me (especially Remi's version):

I actually got bored of Mira after reading a bit of Earth Girls...but after the praise here I decided to take a look. The art itself doesn't do much (although it is good), but the C-section line fucking slayed me.

Wasn't expecting a happy ending there :D
And that one got me too ^^

Oh yes... The C-section had me laughing out loud for a moment there. Ironically probably also one of the most realistic reactions in the story. :)

Saori is still kind of despicable to me in the end.
Dating a bunch of girls at once and then doing one of your girlfriend's mom's while she's home? And often?
This mom seems a little too accepting, I'd say.
The author even threw in a "Mayu got a new girlfriend, so don't feel bad for her!" Doesn't mean she wasn't cruely mistreated.

It makes you wonder if Mayu knew about the other girls, the fact that she got other girlfriend so fast probably means that she was not so much on Saori and just didn't like that she wanted to end the relationship out of nowhere.

I wonder if it could be considered some kind of ntr, Keiko kind of stole Saori from Mayu and two other girls, although Saori didn't love any of them.

Considering the dialogue on pages 29 & 30: "[...] it's not just you. Saya, Arisu, Mayu, all of them" and the response of Saori being called out as being crazy for actually being in love with someone... Somehow that does not really sound like anyone was looking for a serious relationship there, with Saori simply being a popular player in mutually uncommitted liaisons.

Her actually falling in love for once made her usual way of interacting crumble, forcing her into completely new territory, as she herself states on page 33; coincidentally including a passage from her about how all the previous trysts were not about love but merely about excitement from both sides. Mayu's quick bounce-back also seems to support that line of reasoning (this is not to say that she wasn't disappointed or hurt initially, but her emotional commitment wasn't too deep).

Can't help but to think the married lover is quite egoistic. She uses the other girl to have fluffy sex but still married that man who seems pretty useless...

Considering the possibility, or better the lack thereof, as well as the societal pressures faced by lesbian couples in Japan regarding artificial insemination, combined with the missing proper legal status for same-sex couples, I can imagine that women who desperately want a child will indeed compromise to a certain extent to make that wish come true. Many authors more or less directly address this phenomenon, in my mind often writing stories that hit home due to them sadly being pretty realistic (think Yui7's "Spring Haze: The Path We Walk On" or Amano Shuninta's "Mama Mama"). Not quite as light and fluffy as one might want, but I find many of said tales all the more heart-warming because of the way in which they depict people coping with what is far from an ideal situation.
