Quite solid doujinshi, NGL
Makis wish could be seen as "selfish", but I can get where shes coming from. She wants to be publically affectionate with Nico, but with that, she gets boymoded.
Her being a boy means she isnt in muse (also boy Nico could very well be an idol, co-ed idol groups or a boy idol group, but i guess its more stigma if anything)
Thing is though, Makis wish was super ambigous, maybe cause she thinks the standard to being publically affectionate is to be a hetero couple? She just wrote "i wanna be lovey dovey with Nico," there could have been a temporary moment of an accepting society of their gay relationship; as opposed to boymode Nico. Regardless, i liked the dynamics explored with boy Nico and girl Nico.
Also isnt Japan ultra conservative in regards to sexuality? Do couples, regardless of sexuality even do PDA in Japan? Lmfaooo
Man this trope is quite common in yuri though. At least this doujinshi was just an explored trope (i have a yuri bias), theres a song with Rin and Miku, where Rin is an angel, but angels cant love humans. So Rin gets humanified as a male, in this case: she becomes Len. I think this trope just insinuates that naturally, the way to "truly love" or show affection is through heterosexual standards. Like mate, Rin could have just become a human girl.
Also idk, Maki reminds me of Tohru in this doujinshi, she likes Nico regardless of her sex, but its more she prefers Fem Nico. Tohru without a doubt would love Kobayashi if she were male or female
