In the comments the author notes that they had to make up the colors of the outfits (chapters are in black and white), and that blue is the color of the Virgin Mary. They also gave Asuka a not-as-subtle middle age-style halo.
Tomoko and Katou visit a Christian missionary university in Japan. Between the events of the chapter and its setting Tomoko ends up comparing Katou to the Christian saint.

Little details in this refer subtly to Maria-sama ga Miteru, the yuri classic set in a Catholic academy (K-16) for girls in Tokyo. (I know that almost all of you know what it is.) That's probably why Tomoko says the place is like the ones in light novels and manga.
