I watched the first episode and it was my opinion that this show was just more of the same heterosexual nonsense the straights always seem to come up with. Whoever this show is for, it isn't for me. That said, the amount of art I've seen shipping these two has left me perplexed.

It's a trigger show, so they go the extreme but they do it well. It's pretty entertaining, if you can get past the unsubtle sexual subtext and pass the "I don't like fanservice cause I'm so smart", it's pretty cool.
It doesn't have a lot of good actions scenes yet, but the one big fight there was is pretty good. It can be a little cringey since it's supposed to be a coming of age story, though.

this is like every mech show ever. one person who can't fight and another who can. lots of kissing, fan service and boring dialogue.

There are plenty of mech shows that don't fit that formula.

I'm surprised so many people here are bashing this show. I love Trigger and I think the general character writing and progression has been really good. People do love to jump on the "I don't like fanservice cause I'm so smart" bandwagon really easily. A lot of sexual nature of the series is about puberty and coming of age, the way their world works and produces babies, how people interact socially and so fourth. However it seems so few people can get over a little bit of sexuality and instead so many people are only focusing on that, which is in my opinion a poor way to critique a series but oh well.

^I'm biased because I do like ecchi, but I seriously hate people who automatically dislike a series for having fanservice. I also hate people who automatically dislike a series for it being moe. It's seriously stupid.

I didn't watch show, but from what I heard isn't characters supposed to be breed for fighting and are totally expendable? So focus on sexuality and heterosexuality isn't kinda given? Also I heard they drive mechas by fucking them, which sounds awesomely stupid. (source)
