The amount of harassment this artist is receiving from the BA community is insane, it's really sickening and sad.
Not sure if you'll see this Moedred but I'm officially dubbing the BA community as the worst fandom on the internet. We were talking about above worst gacha fandoms, and I now think the BA fandom is the worst fandom just in general. I just had to submit 30+ reports on Twitter because of homophobes, transphobes, and so fourth using everything they have to bully this artist off of the internet because they hate this artist for making same sex ship art.

^I don't know what I expect from people, I suppose I just...wish people enjoyed their game without being weird jerks about it. Unfortunately the platform turned into the Muskrat's hell hole and everything has gone increasingly down hill since. Sadly all of my reports were only the tiniest tip of the iceberg, partly due to a youtuber using their entire following against this artist. I even had to unlock my account because I submitted so many reports and got account locked for it...I wish this artist posted on Blue Sky instead, along with other artists. I only use Twitter to follow artists that are staying, but it's a terrible experience all around.

@Moedred I'm going to assume that you're talking about a specific type of Blue Archive fan, the ones harassing this artist are the same ones that are constantly making "pedo jokes". It's very possible that those types are actually pedos in the way you're describing. I wouldn't say that everyone that plays Blue Archive and enjoys the game is a pedo though. There's people like this artist that just enjoy it as an anime game and aren't disturbed about it.
@juanelric I thought twitter at least banned the orange-bafoon but muskrat unbanned him, that's how I remember it. Twitter definitely had problems in the past but nowhere near this level, and bullies would actually get dealt with more often, the report button wasn't so useless.

It's not black and white, there's nuance. Also stating the obvious here this type of "anti-tourist" poster is racist of course, and part of their fetishizing is that these far right types don't actually like Japanese people, they just like their fantasy version of Japan, and their fantasy that no anime or manga is at all political in a way they disagree with, and that no anime or manga contains things that they dislike. As you said it's an excuse, it's an excuse to be terrible to other people and harass them, and they're usually delusional enough to believe their own nonsense and hate. It's sad.

^I worry I might come off the wrong way or at least badly, especially as there's nuances and thoughts that get missed or are difficult to articulate, here goes though. Part of why the situation is so weird to me is that there's games and anime/manga where I don't mind attractive characters, fan service elements, and so fourth. With anime/manga the loli/shota thing to me is something where I see a cute stylized cartoon character. I don't translate or take things from these types of media into the real world, and I think that's "normal" I guess.
Where I can say oh yeah this ZZZ character is attractive, or this taboo one-shot comic on Dynasty is interesting or sometimes even spicy, and that's about the gist. I don't make it a personality point, I can turn off my computer and entirely separate that from the real world. I'd like to at least believe I have a solid head on my shoulders and ability to separate reality and fiction.
So it's just...weird to me when I look over and see people being creeps about all of this media in a way where it is their personality, and they translate it to irl as well. On top of often being incels that are all around hateful. The kind of people that go out of their way to be cruel to artists like this, and it's a core part of their personality. It sucks.

Also welp...I see people trying to now pull an American K-On fandom situation with Umamusume since the franchise is getting more popular in the West, and the game is coming to English. Where self proclaimed nazis are doing horrible shit with the media in question. It's so disgusting and tiring, another 20+ reports submitted. I still love K-On and I'll continue loving Umamusume, but it sucks to think about such hateful losers wiping their slimey hands all over them.
