I don't see age gap here as a problem. I would have a problem if they were 24 and 35 and know each other for like 15-20 years as a problem, but when they just met while one being 24 and other 35? No problem.

@Moedred Yeah a 24 and 35 year old dating isn't a problem on it's own, when they met could be another conversation and could be a problem, in this case though I understood this AU art as them having met at those ages at the job.
The boss/employee power dynamic and work place relationship are a whole other set of complications and the more pressing concerns, but this specifically is fictional art so I'm not worried about it. I was just having a laugh at how wild a line "don't tell hr" is lol

Maybe OT. Has "telling HR" ever worked? Most of my cases dealing with HRs are them trying to contain incidents to protect the company, mostly in the form of requiring the victim to sign NDAs.
