This is definitely one of my recent favorites, it's lovely.

Not trying to start shit but every time I see an image with Mordred tagged as yuri, I die a little inside. He's not a girl...

You will get hit in the face if you call Mordred a girl, and you will get kicked harder in the face if you call her a boy.
But in-universe Mordred is a girl, both her version have a "Female" as a trait. Not just Femine Looking.
I don't remember if she call herself a man once in-story. She just behaves like she think "real man" and a Knight would. She hates being called a woman since she feel that her Mother was weak because she was a woman. Internal misogyny?
Mordred never had male body (like for example Caenis did, but Caenis case is even more complicated).

Yeah it's complicated, but I don't think Mordred is "he". There's a lot of internalized misogyny, largely from the time Mordred comes from and the role of a knight being masculine.
Also sexuality/gender stuff even IRL is really complicated. I've seen real people go by he/him and identify as lesbian, adjacent to that I've seen butch lesbians that identify as he/him before. I've also seen they/them people identify as lesbian, and gay, so fourth.
So theoretically Mordred could be she/her, he/him, they/them, or any combination and be lesbian (or bi) as well. We also don't know all of the views the character has on terms and identify, it's ultimately pretty nebulous. A lot of gender and identity stuff in Fate is pretty vague. So I think it's fair to have different thoughts and opinions on the matter, but with nothing being concrete I do think tagging Mordred x Gudako as Yuri is fine in theory.

There were also he/him lesbians that were rather prominent during the 20th century. Still identified as women but used he/him pronouns. In Mordred's case, I don't really feel there is a transgender aspect like I do for da Vinci or Shi Huang Di.

^Yeah I think Da Vinci is more transgender adjacent. She's also said she doesn't mind being referred to as any gender, so her pronouns I think would be "Any"

While y'all debate semantics, I'll stare at those rock-busting abs.

^I don't think we're exactly discussing semantics, so much as the characters in Fate tend to be loosely defined and complicated in their identities. That aside though, staring at the abs here is a great way to go lol

Mordred is out there with Yamato on the "their situation is so specific that trying to explain theyre not actually trans will make you look transphobic" tier
Basically due to their goal either being a specific person or wanting to be a worthy knight they ended up behaving/wanting to behave like a man and, in Mordred's case, take issue when you treat them like a girl, if that is also internalized misogyny i dont know nor i care enough

^I don't think anyone here has looked transphobic in this discussion at least, the discussion of identity has been reasonable in this thread. There's some varied opinions on the specifics of the topic and that's okay.
