We don't really know yet, but they do bear a striking resemblance. It begs the question though, how many generations apart do you have to be for the genes to be distinct enough that it doesn't count as incest?

Regarding the generational incest you could probably think about what you would count as incest horizontally and then take the same number of steps vertically? i.e. if I would be okay with the daughter of my father's cousin, that would be three steps up the family tree and three steps down, so 0.5^6 matching DNA, which means I would be okay with dating my grand-grand-grand-grand-grandmother. Have fun with this knowledge.
