They did afaik and that's actually made a few people angry.
Anti-Bumblebee supporters are angry for the self-explanatory and obvious reasons, while Pro-Bumblebee supporters are angry that it seems to come out of left field and feels forced and pandering.
It's a big mess. But, then again, when has the RWBY community agreed on anything?

@Swag Wagon: I didn't know that there was a significant Pro-Bumblebee negative reaction. I guess I'm not alone in thinking that CRWBY could've done it better... or maybe manga and doujinshi have made me too used to same-sex friendships that are as physically intimate as Yang and Blake have been towards the end of Volume 6.

As for Bumblebee, the creators said to wait and see. I don't think they're together yet but maybe in the next season they will be.

While I love yuri and the show rwby there wasn't a single pair that ever appealed to me. This on is only now starting to grow on me.
