Yep! Even in the phrase "It's-a Me, Mario!", they put an "a" as a modification because Mario is Italian and, aparently, Italians don't finish a word in consonant (it always end on vowels). I think the difference is more noticeable to latin people (people who speak Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French...).

"[French] descended from the Vulgar Latin of the Roman Empire, as did all Romance languages. French has evolved from Gallo-Romance, the spoken Latin in Gaul, and more specifically in Northern Gaul. " And don't start sentences with "actually." It means nonsense follows.

Latin derived languages are more commonly called "romanic" languages... as coming from ancient Rome, the Italic region. That's obviously how they spread across Europe too and why they are almost exclusively spoken in former Roman territories. Ancient Rome is very romantic though, so it just makes sense.
