I swear I'm trying to find this one shot with a mermaid, but when checking the tag nothing accurate shows up. Not when searching for monster girl or supernatural either.
I even tried searching by assuring which tags it wasn't. Still nothing. I could've done a bad job searching, but I give up. Trying keywords didn't yield the right one either, even if I was confident.
Here's the basic plot description, which I feel I remember pretty well:
The main character's grandmother, who I believe worked around or in the ocean, met this mermaid and befriended her when she was younger. I vaguely recall she has a memento of some sort, something like a sea shell. The main girls' class has a new transfer student (as always) that isn't able to speak or can't for some reason. They communicate through texting for the transfer girl's sake and end up becoming friends.
I have trouble remembering the middle portion, but I believe the transfer girl ends up singing and the MC ends up losing all her memory of her friend. I vaguely recall they were in the bathroom, don't ask why. Of course, she does end up remembering her and you see the transfer girl with her older sister. Talking about how mermaids (it could be sirens) interacting with humans doesn't go well.
The MC finds her, likely realizing her feelings (of course it's a yuri), and tells her. Emotional reunion and the manga likely ends not long after.
There is more to it, the details are foggy in some parts. Would appreciate any help, I want to reread it. :)
