The title says it, recently I've been experiencing massive lags on this site where pages sometimes need more than a minute to load, while every other website works perfectly fine. Is that just me or does someone have the same issues?

It's not just you. July was the most traffic the site has ever had by a considerable margin (around 20%), and August is looking much the same. While in-week performance is fine for most users, weekend performance (Friday-Sunday) lags considerably behind our expectations due to such extreme traffic. We expect this situation to begin improving in a few weeks as the summer boom dies down.

In the meantime, we're considering alternatives - like image optimization - to improve user experience. Any updates on this situation will be posted in the FAQ thread.
