General Overview of Volume 13(not much spoilers but I'll tag it anyway):

Unlike the previous volumes, this one actually has a coherent plot, and the story moves in a straight, linear way.

It’s basically a coming ofage story for Shimamura.

There are no chapters from Adachi’s POV this time.

I wonder if we'll eventually read about them in college soon.

Thanks for answering my question. Personally, I feel as though the series is meandering a bit, and while not everyone likes series that end just after the main couple gets together, it can sometimes be good to end it after the characters achieve their goal rather than just letting it drag on without a purpose..

I get wanting a clear plot, but… was there ever really much of one in Adachi and Shimamura to begin with? The story’s "plot" is right there in the title, it’s about Adachi and Shimamura, plain and simple. The dramatic moments, the mundane, all of it. Their relationship is the plot.

Shortly After.

This one is an epilogue to LN12CH1, so make sure to read that before this.

I’ve finished reading SS2…

Remember that colored illustration of Adachi as a cat?

I thought it’d just be cute and funny, like most animal transformation stories. But nope, I was completely wrong. I wasn’t expecting Shimamura to get sentimental over cat Adachi possibly having a shorter lifespan than hers… and she even cried. Still a great chapter.

They're both made for each other but I feel like Adachi benefits the most simply because I don't know how anyone else but Shima would have handled her. On the other hand, I could imagine Shima living her life with her other friend just fine (though not as happily as she'd be with Adachi!).

Do you mean if Shimamura dated Tarumi (the other friend you were saying) it would've been "fine"?

If you are then, I disagree. I honestly don't remember how this was told in the manga but in the original LN, the problem that lies in Shimamura is how she chooses to disconnect with other people, not even attempting to get to know her beyond what she thinks is acceptable enough to be not bothersome to deal with.

Adachi balances out that aspect of Shimamura, just like how Shimamura is unusually kind and considerate towards Adachi. It's pretty cliché but AdaShima stresses the idea that Shimamura and Adachi are two halves who complete each other. Neither of them would work with anyone else but each other.

I surely enjoyed reading Shimamura spend an entire chapter talking about how beautiful and perfect Adachi is. That said, Adachi's quite amazing in how she's still able to rationalize her thoughts despite being incredibly flustered. Not your usual "gay panic", I guess.
