To be honest, I severely doubt that her current girlfriend tried to fucking murder her. Or even rape her, we'll get further context soon. Not to say it doesn't look that way, but I think the author often sets things up specifically to defy expectation. I would be more inclined to think she did something less crazy, like cutting her gfs clothes off, or maybe some demented "Let me mark you with a scar, it'll be artsy" type thing. Hell, even I've known a person who used "scarification" in place of tattooing. But damn, Igarashi really leaves you desperate for answers every chapter, a masterclass in writing in my opinion. Which is a breath of fresh air after some of the shit we've been fed as of late (looking at you, How Do I Get Together With My Childhood Friend)
