To be honest, I severely doubt that her current girlfriend tried to fucking murder her. Or even rape her, we'll get further context soon. Not to say it doesn't look that way, but I think the author often sets things up specifically to defy expectation. I would be more inclined to think she did something less crazy, like cutting her gfs clothes off, or maybe some demented "Let me mark you with a scar, it'll be artsy" type thing. Hell, even I've known a person who used "scarification" in place of tattooing. But damn, Igarashi really leaves you desperate for answers every chapter, a masterclass in writing in my opinion. Which is a breath of fresh air after some of the shit we've been fed as of late (looking at you, How Do I Get Together With My Childhood Friend)

This is possibly my favorite manga on the site, and I've been here a while! And while we are making predictions, I'm surprised no one is talking about the graffiti rose that so conveniently happened to be at their new meeting point. I keep thinking, are the odds really so low that someone else saw their letter exchange in that book? Maybe they've got an ally, could even be painting girl. But of course, that's just speculation for now

I know, I can't believe it, I wanna do a victory dance!! And about your previous comment, I agree I'm skeptical about this new development. Still, I don't think painting girl will get in the way all that much, these two are too gay for each other now! Hopefully it's more about Kasumi working through her self-loathing and it doesn't take too long. But it's cute to see Onee-sama desperate to spoil her little sister, the feeling is definitely mutual! (Even if Haruyo might need some time to ahem catch up to Kasumi's "maturity")

Just saying... doesn't Maekawa seem a little... abusive? Like, she expects her friend to completely emotionally care for her, never leave her side, and always be there for emotional support. She uses the fact that her friend likes her and blatantly leads her on for the specific purpose of becoming an emotional leech and isolating her from others (i.e getting pissed when she needs to talk to others, even in a work setting). And most importantly she manipulates her emotionally, guilt tripping her into never leaving under any circumstances, even when being toyed with and used, else being an evil monster just like everyone else who's ever left her. Disclaimer: I still don't think Maekawa is a bad person, just has way to many issues to dump on a friend or spouse. This relationship is getting more and more toxic. It's getting kind of hard to read this and ship them together, Shizumu deserves so much better. Maybe I'm just overly sensitive to this because I've been exposed to it tho.
