Just so we're clear, we all know Ponko is decommissioned military hardware, right?

She was a nurse in her last job, they showed that in the flashback. Her 'weapon' could be for disposing medical waste.

Too many mentions of "The War" for her not to be somehow related to it.

I just realized rereading this, the poetry thing is established in chapter 1, and then never mentioned again.
