And just out of curiosity, I’d like to ask the mangaka if the telepath can “hear” thoughts through walls and doors?

The answer can add a dimension of challenge for MCs to deal with.

Yamura-sensei had this to say!
"If Kokosaki isn't too far from the person in question, then she can hear their thoughts, even through a wall [or door]."

^^^What people mean is this manga seems a bad fit for a (shonen) magazine one could assume is normally just full of action and H stuff- not cute or sweet yuri! And are worried part of the deal was to change it a lot to add fan service or a boy love rival or whatever.

I know we will still have the web version- but that doesn't mean we dont hold out hope the serialized version will be great too.

Maybe the serialized version would focus more on the comedic side of things and keep things vaguely subtext-ish, but would never go beyond that. I'm hoping to be wrong and this is the first step of a shonen magazine trying to become more appealing to a more wide audience, but i'm not holding my breath on that one.

So far the serialized version has just been expanding the Twitter version into more pages. More focus on certain scenes and expressions, but nothing hugely different just yet.

I realize now that I didn't make this fully clear, but I don't have permission to translate the serialization...
At this time, only the Twitter version will continue to receive an English translation. I'll have to see if there's anything we can do about that...

Actually, if the use of "aphonia" is accurate to the original line, it's still ambiguous; according to Wikipedia, aphonia can be due to purely psychological causes (i.e. "psychogenic") despite being typically caused by physical trauma/condition (e.g. nerve damage, tumor, or tracheotomy).

The word used is indeed the Japanese word for aphonia: 失声症 (shisseishou). So as you said, the cause remains ambiguous for now (^_^;)

Might have been better to just tell the kitchen lady that she is mute so it won't happen again... but that wouldn't have been nearly as tsundere and roundabout!

It's an artist from Twitter called Yamura Ichi. I'm not sure if that got added over the last 2 days, but it's there in the manga description.

I just added it when I posted Chapter 3 earlier (^_^;)

I have another yuri oneshot from Patrache coming soon (only 4pages, unfortunately), so keep your eyes out!

It's worth noting that, besides the fact that a new chapter hasn't been posted since October, the artist has several ongoing Pixiv webmanga, including Tadokoro-san, which he started since the latest chapter of Cat-Eared Girl. This is all in addition to a serialised manga (which he's working on with Akamaru, of all people).

I'm currently working on translating Tadokoro-san by the way!
