The anthology series IS a doujin, albeit officially released. But the opinions on the various stories' canonicity is very diversive.

Anthology comics are doujins for all intents and purposes. Product descriptions of the books usually include a line saying "different artists draw their own interpretations", which is basically a disclaimer.

Doesn't stop fans from claiming their favorite ship is canon though.

Didn't know that haha. I always assumed that if its unofficial/fanmade its a doujin, and if its officially released its not. Thanks for clearing that out for me.

IIRC, many fans back then thought the anthology series was a doujin, and that's the reason it hasn't been translated until now. I've been looking for these for quite a while now, thank you translators!

As a never-say-die HonoUmi shipper this is food for my shipping soul. Honestly, why is putting this two together considered a rare ship? They have more canon material support than KotoUmi. I just don't understand.

Based on the number of HonoUmi in the manga and SID, it's safe to say that this was the pair Kimino wanted. KotoUmi and TsubaHono only grew in popularity so that nobody is left out and everyone has a pair.

Going to be a while before the next Volume comes out. Gonna be re-reading this series a lot when I get bored.

But Nico being abrasive in the anime was endearing in a way as she changes to be a better person throughout the show!

Yup, she's one of my favorites because of her personality. But from what I've read, many fans(especially western fans) to dislike Nico at first despite her popularity in Japan. I just find it refreshing to see an old character in a new light.

MangaNico is the best! Not as selfish as her anime counterpart and she cares for μ's more.

According to wikia, the manga has only 40 chapters.

Yeah, Volume 5 was just released last year. Volume 6 will probably come out this year(Probably alongside or near the release date of SIF All Stars). The manga is ongoing so μ's will still be here for a long time.

I need more NicoMaki and NozoEli in this manga.

There's already more NicoMaki here(and School Idol Diary) than the entire anime, and there are probably more to come. Rejoice, my brother, for the ship sails on.

It's crazy for me! These SIDs feel like they always have one line that ruins a yuri pair relationship. Sisters with NicoMaki and future lover for NozoEli. Even so, those two pairs are meant for each other.

Well, Nico did say Maki reminded her a little of Cocoa and Cotaro. Also, during the chapter, Nico acted like the responsible older sister when Maki was about to cry when they got separated.
