Glad to see she didn't chicken out just because magical girling isn't as glamorous as she had hoped and is less 'Moon Therapy Kiss' and more 'beat a rabid weasel to death with a shovel'.
The notes about how magical girls and their foes retcon each other after victory has gotta be a mindscrew though. If one of them does manage to kill Ieshiki, does that return every single monster she's slain, or is there an eventual time where it sticks regardless? I could see a future chapter where that happens and Yamada has to run a gauntlet of her senior's past foes to get to the one that got her and retcon her back into existence.
For the utmost jarring points, they ought to have Yamada's familiar be a sailor-mouthed, cigar smoking little ball of adorableness.
I think from what Ieshiki said that the burial keeps them from coming back if she dies.
