Yeah, that was kinda my thought as well. I assumed it was, like, an official photoshoot that Mei was just crashing, but it's actually some kind of weird thing where fans can pay to get up close and take private photos of her in a swimsuit? Feels super sketchy.

I guess you could argue it's no different from real life where fans can meet and take photos of complainers who are dressed in revealing outfits. I'm pretty sure this probably is a normal thing in Japan and maybe we just see it as strange.

I still think the storytelling in Penacony has been a bit off and the pacing a bit weird but I'm still looking forward to seeing what happens next

I've read the first volume some months before this got animated. I first thought the mc would be Yuri, because of how she seemed so nervous talking with that blue haired girl. Also that kiss joke. Plus this was on dynasty where there's Yuri most of the time.
Watching the anime until ep 7 it became clear this is not the case after all. I won't lie, I was disappointed. But it's not the het, it's the 40 yo with a 16 yo pairing that's disturbing. Also that weird joke with the predator on that park where the Kabadi leader was training.

Wait, wheres the 40 year old? You mean Hobo sensei? That wasn't in any way a serious pairing.

She doesn't know if Karin's feelings were true so she went back on that decision. Plus the fact that Karin wanting a new career and using their relationship as a way to vent her frustrations I'd say it kinda made sense she decided against it. She wanted to date Karin because she thought Karin was serious about wanting to date her.

Maybe HuoHuo is just too innocent and childlike to me to like this. I will admit it's a funny joke based off them all working well together.

That sex scene felt out of nowhere. Their relationship always felt subtle so to say they had sex now felt random. Even weirder is the fact that they had sed after a conversation of her going blind. Really weird writing

^ I guess my issue with the ship is that it felt like it only existed to give the players an emotional punch to the gut when THAT scene happened. Like their interactions only existed so that we can be sad down the line.

^ agreed. I just couldn't get into it because it was so obvious the game was trying to make us care for them together. That just made me have the opposite reaction from together. It reminds me of HSR's depiction of Seele and Bronya. They are so forced together in the game

I'd say in game there's no differences but there's definitely a difference based on their gender if you consider how they'd be treated by their servants outside of what we see. For example Gudako would be able to do and see things with the female servants Gudao wouldn't be able to. And their previous lives would be different based off their gender. I think that's what the manga do best. Like how in the Shimousa manga Gudako really felt like a mom to Jack. Or how in the Salem manga she comes across as a sister to Robin. She's also better able to join the play has a woman than if she was Gudao. I do hate that fact that the Agartha story (worst story imo) doesn't play up the gender part, since that's the only story in FGO where it would really matter playing Gudako or Gudao.
