It's not that rape happens in the story that's unforgivable it's how its used and just shrugged off by the story, watch this have no repercussions and be laughed at as a quirky situation at best later on, unless they go full on trauma delayed reaction this is just weird fetishistic writing, which you know is not the worst thing ever, but it sure hid itself well until now. Btw same thing happens in plenty of BL manga, literal rape happens but its portrayed as being not that big of a deal because "uke" either orgasmed or dude is hot. Like if the point was that main character is a rapist and she just doesn't care that would fit, but I know for sure this isn't what author wanted and that just makes it worse, way worse.
Don't mind heavy topics, but unintentional edginess is the lamest thing in writing for me. I don't usually read all the tags so it really threw me a loop, this doesn't fit and I'm 99% sure artist didn't mean for this to be a heavy topic, just a freaking weirdo with weird values that's it.

I only remember one hetero story that had the same problem, chinese animation, I just stopped watching because it left a bad taste in my mouth. But I do remember a couple yuri manga and quite a few BL, including not really graphic ones, like they didn't include visual sex scenes, but just enough so we know dude forced himself on the other dude, cool cool. At this point its just a weird trope.

If someone read the raws and can explain if tags on mangaupdates are legit, do watch out if you didn't they are spoilers uuh so tags are: Abusive Lover First Love Flashbacks, Glasses-Wearing Female Lead, Lesbian/s, LGBT Character in Non-Yaoi/Yuri Manga LGBT Scenes, Multiple Narrators, Time Skip, thats a huge OOF for me, I'm going to avoid this one

I’d gotten my hopes up thinking that they omitted the alien ._.

Same... it has been a while since I've disliked a side character in manga this much.

But overall I like this version better, I don't mind the slow burners but I like seeing some development. Even girlfriends that pretty much started as a subtext/shoujo ai at best wasn't as slow as the first version of this manga. There is a difference between slow burn manga and not going anywhere.
At the original's pace we would have a kiss or someone even proclaiming their feelings by the 200th chapter. I'm not the 'so when do they bone?' kind of person but it was supposed to be a romance.
A good example of a slow burn manga that doesn't feel like it's standing still even though it has a slower pace is 'My Unrequited Love'.

I regret reading the comments. Pathetic biphobic people. Enjoy posting whatever crap comes to your mind next, I'm not reading comments here again as this is not the first time I see those comments. Also try dating less shitty people instead of putting labels on whole groups.

Keeping the pomf meme alive.

This is cute, but not really yuri is it? Misleading tag, I'd prefer subtext for this one at best. Still enjoyed it.

Read last chapter on different site, I'm disappointed.

no conclusion to major plots in the ending at all, this is what I hate the most in mangas, even more than rushed endings, fuck this. Should have at least gave yaoi thing good ending but nah.

If this goes harem route I'm out. I mostly hate them because there is never any resolution of their relationship between any of the characters.

That was an unexpected turn, and now adult trap, I'm happy with how it turned out.

The whole "practice for the real thing" is a trope I just find hard to accept.

Yeah, regardless of my feelings on cheating and ntr, this is my biggest gripe with those stories.
I can't handle how dumb this is.

After last Viking episode I needed ending like this.

I like rereading this, I dislike threesome tags on yuri mangas but this one ends in both girls finding their parters so it's fine, I'm a bit drunk so I needed to edit this.

Hope to see more of them but it's great seeing her love be reciprocated.

I was so scared reading that, but it was just as good as the first part. Unique story and art, hard to swallow but a great treat nonetheless.

Let's see.. 4koma, het and love triangle. No thanks.

I honestly hated this combo too, but I'm glad I gave it a chance, pretty decent and cute manga.

But I also agree a bit with:

Storytelling could be better, feels a bit... loose...

MC is super awkward and confused, and oh-hey, a guy in a yuri manga who isn't a villain/douche-bag, impressive.

It was okay-ish. No yuri, if you look rly hard with yuri glasses there is like 1 line of subtext, someone is getting lazy with tags.

IMO this one needs lolicon tag. If heroine doesn't cross the line before kid is of age I will give this "creepy but kinda cute" rating. I know at least 3 yandere stories that end well, so I can always hope.

2) The central themes to this story are isolation and loneliness. Injecting an instance of apparent heteronormativity helps add a degree of distance between what our more newly minted witch was and what she became... or... per a more sophisticated meaning, what she thought she was and what she realized herself to be.

3) I think it's feasible to regard the whole of the plot here as a metaphor for the journey of self-discovery that is the process of coming out. The initial self-identification as a "normal" member of society, the curiosity, the hostility, the "closeted" stage, suspicion from others, backlash, and ultimately self-acceptance. Put the page order into timeline order, and that's what you get. (Of course, I'm not saying that this is the only meaning of the story. There are other things going on here. But this is one thing here.)

I like these ones more than possible explanation I've given. I'm not 100% convinced by any of these but remembering different manga by the same author makes them pretty probable.

Oh yeah I won't argue with it having whole lots of sense, maybe the author wanted to emphasize her loss or maybe it had more to it in the rough draft. Whatever the motivation was I agree that it was pretty weird, but saying it doesn't fit the time line might be getting one step too far.
We don't know how often did she go to there. She mentions witch not getting older, usually something you notice more if you see someone less often, but we can only guess. She returned there multiple times, but during that time she became an adult so for all we know it could have been once a year or once every two years.

I hate het in my yuri manga but holy cow are some ppl here over-sensitive. For me it was pretty obvious that guy-she-loved thingy was before kissing the witch (not like kissing to wake her up starts up the relationship by itself anyway). I lost another pinch of faith in humanity.

Good read. Love the snowy setting.

You shouldn't compare authors like Takemiya Jin and Amano Shuninta to a porn artist

Not trying to, I guess I worded myself badly.
I'm pretty weird in how I will start reading something I know is just a smut and search for at least scraps of plot, so I feel like I tend to sometimes see drama/conflicts when there is almost none involved, and I still didn't felt anything as twisted as some ppl did.

Sorry I'm horrible at explaining myself and explaining in general. I have nothing against ppl liking plot-less smuts but that's just not my thing even though I will still read/skip through to look for a plot (maybe because I don't fap to yuri).

joined May 14, 2015

Idk, I just didn't feel nausea that I did feel while reading mangas like feelings we all must endure or some of the works of Takemiya Jin (still love the author tho). Also my definition of "light-hearted" might be a bit twisted by me being an awkward creep, but what I meant, when filtered by normal people's perception was pretty much:

it ends on a more positive note than what most got out of the story.

joined May 14, 2015

Lol you guys/gals read too much into it, it was explained at the start how blonde is naive, and you all know that this author doesn't do stuff like that, so out of many possible explanations you chose the most twisted one. There are plenty of yuri mangas with no real plot beside "people fuck", while I personally skip through the sex scenes barely reading lines when they are mostly cliché sex-talk and I would love for this to be all about them coming to realisation about mutual love, I don't, however start reading into it like it was manga akin to Monster. IMO it's just a light-hearted smut about two friends fucking.

Obviously everything I've just spammed is my opinion only, and while I do think the overreaction of some ppl is silly, I do not claim to be someone superior when it comes to interpreting stories.
