Huh, I'd have thought "tropical" would mean "Okinawa" not "international", or do mainlanders think of flying to Okinawa as international?

I assume Hotaru island is Umi-Hotaru in Tokyo Bay, rather a big change from "tropical", not even like south Kyushu.

As they're going to Kagaya Inn, we can assume it's the eponymous inn from Mochi au Laits previous series. i don't quite remember where that island was specifically (or if it was specified). it's a fun read tho

edit: i reread it and based on how they talk about distances and such i would assume it's somewhere in the Seto inland sea
