Perhaps it was a ghosting story.

It's not about her birthday, it's her wanting her lover to pay attention to her. Feeling lonely isn't something that changes with age, or wanting people to understand your feelings.

Good thing that previous posters made it clear that there are good things about the heart being on the other side, like being immune to hokuto shinken. I hope Kenshiro didn't show up to bully her afterwards.

I have to apologize for the terrible job I did editing and typesetting this chapter. It was my first major assignment and I didn't do a very good job so I am so very sorry!

It's not that big a deal. Most people are way more interested in being able to read the stuff in the first place, and some editing ends up way, way worse than this. The only major problem I had personally was some of the blurry text, and I'm sure that could get better with practice and with some advice from more experienced editors.

Just saying, I don't recall anyone ever complaining when a guy was introduced in Girl Friends ¯_(ツ)_/¯

To be fair, it doesn't seem that the complaint is necessarily that a guy is introduced. It's that he seems more like a plot device than an actual character. There are ways it could be interesting, but yuri manga is filled with terrible male characters that only exist to make the choice between them and the female love interest really easy. It's too early to tell if it would end up like that though, and I feel like the author deserves the confidence they can do something interesting with it based on past work.

This was pretty funny, but can you imagine the meeting where this plot was pitched to the yuri-hime editors?

THIS IS NOT SUBTLE AT ALL, COMMENTS FROM 2014!

So, the guy's name being "straight" refers to what they call a fastball in japanese baseball.

More like, you can be gay and hate opposite sex, but one thing is not caused by the other. It's often been used as an insult to call the man/woman hater a homosexual. And while I wouldn't put it past individual authors to do that, it should probably not be considered as as serious theory here, of all places, unless the author specifically spells it out. Right now Tazune is a pretty solid villain, who feels inferior and so he takes that anger out on his girlfriend.

tazune's backstory ain't even thought out well
"oh boo hoo, he got made fun of by some girls." who caaaaares lmao
i'm thinking the mangaka included that just to solidify what a shitbag he is

That probably was the reason. They showed him getting bullied to show why he hates women, and then showed how he has no respect for women since they were all over him once they decided he was hot. But it's not like Midori was after him for that reason, so it almost seems like a pointless addition. The author obviously thought it wasn't enough, since he had him punch her right in the face. I don't know where the story is going, but it eliminates any tension about her decision to leave him or not. It's also building up to get worse before it gets better, which means the story is going to be more about Tazune, who no one wants to read about, than the "main characters".

Look, I appreciate the effort you've gone through here, but you haven't shown me evidence of abuse. You've shown me that Tazune is insensitive, clearly thinks lesser of his fiancee, and the two clearly aren't in love, which is something Maki also picks up on, but nowhere have you shown me that he has emotionally abuses her as seems to be the consensus here. It may very well be revealed in a chapter or two that he does in other instances, or he might begin to but within the five chapters so far he simply hasn't abused her. So, I'm just gonna put an end to this here and say lets agree to disagree because its looking like people want to see me as a villain simply for not jumping to Midori's side despite her own stupidity and selfishness.

I agree with this. They aren't kids. Midori obviously wanted something out of him, and he took advantage of her weakness. I am not sure what the point is of making him seem like a real person that is kind of a douche, though. It's easier to just make him evil so that the reasons behind the eventual breakup don't matter. No one wants to read about a man in yuri manga.

Oh hey, it's THAT pool. Only time I remember seeing it on this site was in Oddman 11.

What is this? None of the characters are particularly bad people, and it's not as if they have done anything that wrong. But somehow I don't want any of them to end up with each other. Maybe it's just this author that writes characters where it seems like the best ending would be for the ferris wheel to fall over on them.

Still makes more sense than the plot of Kingdom Hearts.

Good thing advances in science have made it so girls don't have to deal with this anymore. They can easily be replaced by something more compact or retractable, like a beam saber.

So yeah, since it is kind of hard to remember names in this guy's series, it's nice that he has types of animals in the names to help you along. But I got to thinking about it and I remembered an anecdote about a bear (Kumakura) and a rabbit (Usagida) that I heard a long time ago.

A bear and a rabbit were taking a shit in the woods
The bear said, "Hey, you ever have a problem with shit sticking to your fur?"
The rabbit said, "...no"
So the bear wiped his ass with the rabbit

Well, if you are going to throw your life into something to the point it ruins your health, it had might as well be something you love.

Show does good stuff, but it's good to be wary of what he might write. I personally don't think it's totally clear that the vampire is actually a girl yet. I wouldn't put it beyond him. Maybe the series should have a "Beware of Show" tag.

I see that this April Fools joke made no effort to be subtle.

This guy is probably better known for his Umineko comics that are mostly filled with dirty jokes. He can be funny, but the humor is hit-and-miss most of the time. The art itself seems to have taken a downgrade somewhat.
