God, so much nostalgia. I'm from Vietnam, a socialist country which has the same system with China (we're neighbours, duh).
Even though most of my education in this kinda school illustrated in the manga was in the 2000s (I'm 22), most of the customs are exactly the same. I had to wear the red neckerchief from Year 2 to Year 9. Saluted the flag every Monday, singing the national anthem. Our classes also competed and the best ones got the red flag, every freaking week, lol.
I have my big sis and big bro, who went through the exact period (1990s), they may find this manhua's depictions even more familiar.
