Knowing it's the naughty Shuninta, she must have an idea, lol. Information about lesbian escort services are so limited.
honestly the exact thing that got me VERY interested in this series (especially by Shuninta) was the credit she put on the title page for a Research Assistant. so someone absolutely did some research!
His name is actually "Kan" (i.e. Japanese, not English). The translators just decided to literally translate it for no good reason (as in, they provided a reason, but it's a bad one that just reeks of unsound logic).
well it's one of those matters of opinion where you have to ask yourself if you would rather retain the original word solely for the sake of it, when in-text the name is meant to stand out and be awkward and draw attention; or would you rather have the shock value of the name be retained for the average English reader and lose some intangible sense of "authenticity"? I personally tend to value readability to the average viewer over a sense of "retention" but there's merit to both approaches I suppose
Okay, I see what you're saying. I misunderstood about the circles. So they used 〇 like is done for blanking out letters and such. I haven't seen the raws, I didn't realize the numbers here were re-typeset. Though now that I think about it, of course they were, since they match the lettering.
It looks like that's the interpretation the translator went with, yeah. I think they're zeroes.
typesetter here, just wanted to say thanks for the discussion on this, because yeah, they're totally zeroes. in our defense, the raws just have big circles and the font doesn't make it clear. thanks for the correction!
this was surprisingly fun to work on! chapters 3 and 4 aside, it's hands down my favourite Mira (and i've been working on a lot of Mira lately). thanks again to the commissioner!
the ending was disappointing due to the manga getting axed by the publisher, not due to author intent. i'm honest to god mad about this ending thinking about how good it could've been if the author was allowed to finish it however they'd originally planned
Can I get a translate on bougee? Did I spell it right? :P hahaha
Short for "bourgeois" but in the slang use here it just sorta means "classy" or "fancy" usually used sarcastically or rudely. Here Rina's using it to joke around cause there's nothing actually fancy about some burger joint but you could see it as a step up from the diner they went to the night before
also as for spelling i've seen it as "bougie" and "boujee" and everything in between so don't sweat that
about an hour before publishing this, ranka messaged saying "i wanna replace all of rina's yells with the Juicy Couture font" and i was down for it but i didn't actually think they'd do it. this is now my favourite doujin i've ever worked on bar none
I really loved both of these stories. It would be awesome if we could have more oneshots like these (or series for that matter).
there's actually a couple more of these done by the author, if people like this then we can do up the rest of them. this time instead of it being a present for me i'll actually help!
for what it's worth, i read the ending as torako finally caving and telling asagi what she really wants from their relationship and asagi accepting it from her
the translation is a bit of a weird one cause kaede's original pun (she says OMATASEKKUSU which is just omatase + sex for no reason) is extremely out of place on purpose
