I had mixed feelings and thoughts with this work, more than anything because of the psychological implications of a clone. What worried me the most was that Nia's snapshot had memories from 5 years ago, that is, the last five years she spent with her wife will no longer come back; Mel has them, but from her perspective, that is, they are memories of Mel, but Nia's memories were lost forever. So whatever Nia 2 does are new memories, the Nia of those five years actually no longer exists. I coined this to one more concern: that Nia 2 was programmed to continue with the lifestyle that they would have told her in the agency: "you lost five years of memories, but you are married to this woman, so you can't do anything other than go with this woman you don't really know and fill the void left by your other self. You don't know Mel or have memories with her, but you should go with her because that's how it should be, that's how you're programmed." That was my biggest concern, but in a way I feel calmer when I see page 19, because on this page I realize that Nia 2 has free will to decide what to do; she was advised to try checking out her residence with Mel; she was advised, not forced. Nia 2 was the one who decided to go see her wife (whom she doesn’t know), she could easily say that she wasn’t interested in seeing her, and go another way, but no, she wanted to go with Mel, and when she saw that her life was in a certain way, she decided to stay with Mel, with the person she saw who was happy, she decided to stay, and at that moment form new memories. Yes, Nia 1 no longer exists, but Nia 2 retains that personality, that personality that made her stay with a person she doesn't really know, but who knows she loved and will love from now on.
