We've mentioned it before, but just want to reiterate that we went with the subtext tag because none of Kuzushiro-sensei's ongoing works are labeled by their publishers as yuri, and yes, this does include The Moon on a Rainy Night (yanmaga has the series listed as #school, #drama, #youth and #friendship). Obviously Moon had strong hinting early on that Saki was gay and we got full confirmation at the end of volume 1, but still. We're very cautious and have been waiting for something super concrete before changing the tag, but the hinting has...well, it's hard to call it just hinting atp but we hope you understand.

Out of curiosity I tried digging through some of her other works looking to see if Mei's uniform matched any other ones too, but unfortunately I couldn't find a match.

Tsukiko is so effing lucky, she's got literally the cutest wife in the world. I hope someone drags her ass out of the closet soon so she can start appreciating what she has.

I love them both, but there's just something about Sora when she suddenly gets that serious look in her eyes and smiles that gives me the vapors.

Volume 1 will be going on-sale August 17th. No cover at the moment but we have the page count so bar any changes chapter 6 should be the end of volume 1. Kuzushiro going nuts putting out 3 new volumes of manga back-to-back-to-back.

There's been some pretty strong flags that Atsuko is going to die and/or has some sort of illness and not much time left to live.

Oopsies, well ignoring that little hiccup...

Kuzushiro is really hammering it in that Soracchi has a lot more going on that she's not too open about. Doesn't wanna talk about romance but enjoys a romance movie, huh. And then telling her that she's the one you want to be with forever... Very touching scene and I can't wait until we get some kind of POV switch to start seeing what makes her tick. I'm in love with the panels where she stops joking around and just looks so somber.

It's also very sweet seeing how much Tsuki-chan needs Sora too, even if she doesn't want to admit it to herself and tries to push her away. The low self-esteem really messes her up and Soracchi and I wonder if/when we'll know about recent events with work that may have led to this recent spell of depression.

It's very noticeable that Soracchi was avoiding Tsuki-chan's question about what she does for work. If you're planning to live with her, that's not something you can hide forever, girl.

I like how you can trace the increase of the average age of yuri mangaka by the number of series about women in their thirties who are total messes and dont have their lives together.

I can't help but read Tsuki-chan's lines in Sawashiro Miyuki's voice since she's voicing another tired, dark haired 30yo+ woman whose life is a total mess rn in Ikoku Nikki.
