Probably would've been better in a longer format series, however at the end it falls flat in trying to convey a lot of deep things in a character that isn't really fleshed out at all. Nice art for an overall hollow story

i agree. tho i overall still liked it. if the story was more indepth it would have been very moving

tho i wish things were more fleshed out instead of summarized, and i would of preferred if the story had happier conclusion, i still liked it overall. the art was absolutely stunning

Rereading this after seven years, I cannot help but recognize a lot of BPD symptoms in Rio, which would makes it the most sympathetic portrayal of BPD in Japanese media that I've seen so far... Kind of amazing, actually, for a story that was written in the late '90s.

Also, this seems to be the only manga in existence that has a psychotherapist who is actually being useful.

i really really love this interpretation. another sympathetic portrayal of bpd that comes to mind is mariko from dear brother. it's so refreshing to see bpd coded characters who aren't murderous yanderes that ruin everyone and need to be put down

i really love how it felt like a fairytale. the evil step mother, the neglectful father, the troubled and isolated princess, her fairy godparents, and the prince -or princess in this case- that shows her true unconditional tenderness and takes her away from everything. i loved learning about their history and seeing the two girls find a home within each other. and omg rio is just like me frfr. she's like a little puppy when she's with sahoko. their relationship kinda reminds me of that angelina jolie movie gia. but with a much happier ending. one of my new favorite mangas
