I think my only real grip with the manga is that it relies heavily on the contrast with Hitori, which means some aspects of her personality are constantly relegated to concepts one has to imagine from the crumbs Aki exceptionally throws out. Bocchi being a horny lesbian isn't essential because the manga isn't about that, but it speaks volumes that any fan-made characterization feels out of character, even though the rest of the cast doesn't have this problem

Is it implied that Bocchi is cheating on Kita or something? Because the tone of the manga seems gloomy, but the story has a happy ending and a fairly mild conflict

I could have sworn Sasaki appeared in the anime, but now you've got me doubting. But yes, she's basically a friend of Kita's who's also with Bocchi now; she's there to balance the group dynamic since Ryo and Nijika are at another school.
