Each chapter is just opening more and more questions, but apart from more obvious ones, I'm kinda confused about why Karasuma wanted to prevent Michi from seeing Mizu(?) and then comforting Michi saying "it was going to be fine"?

Does that mean that Michi somehow has a connection to Mizu that could potentially trigger some repressed memories? And what repercussions would that have?

I might be overinterpreting things, but it just seemed odd to me how Karasuma was babying Michi in that moment.

You're right, I suppose especially for such different languages, most of the time literal translations cannot convey the specific feeling of the expression so you have to find an equivalent that captures the same vibe, and even then it might not hit exactly the same way. Translation is definitely an art in and of itself!
