I think is alluding to the Handkerchief Test, a test that was practiced by some cultures in ancient times to determine a woman's virginity on her wedding night. Mokou obviously does not like the implications of the handkerchief's presence.
I don't think so. I think it has more to do with what is mentioned on page 6 of Chapter 7: http://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/stretch_ch08#7 . I think that her father died at that time (she is dressed for a funeral).
