Or the thorn crown means that now Fuuko must suffer and be tortured for the sins of Yuni.

And is Yuni really the bad girl or asshole here? She is being chased by Natsume who loves her but doesn't want to acknowledge her publically, at least didn't until she was forced too, and Fuuko who has like heavier emotional baggage than jesus carrying the cross.

The OG Yuri, without this we wouldn't have all the wonderfull Yuri that we have today. Amazing and sadly trapped in it's time like @Kwonnie points out. Still that doesn't invalidate all the emotions, gratefull for this gem and the boundries it broke back in it's day.

Aya reminds me so much of Laura from Twin Peaks.
If she had a friend like Marika I'm sure she would have found happiness and real love.

This manga and all the references, love it.

Loved that we got to see more of Yuni's and Fuuko's backstory, their family life and thoughts.
Fuuko's "mama" complex makes sense never getting the motherly loved she needed after her grandmother died. Yuni's problems with cheating make sense coming from a broken home which gives many people experiencing it trauma in some form or another.

Good stuff, not everything needs to be happy go lucky feelgood, can't wait to see where this goes. Writing and Art is 10/10
