I love how Kantai Collection brings out the naval warfare geek in doujin authors. The art was a little muddy in a few places, but overall I dug it.

Finished watching the anime last night, so revisiting this.

Only unlike Popeye, Valkyrie Drive takes itself way more seriously than a series with such a ridiculous premise has any business of taking.

The execution was occasionally silly, though. Like when they're all trying to arrest Mirei so half the girls standing around her in a circle turn to their partners and start making out. I'm just saying a little foresight and planning could've helped there. Do the making out BEFORE you need the guns, so the guns are ready when you need 'em.

I REALLY wish we'd gotten an emotional resolution between Mirei and Mamori there at the end. It's implied, but I like it better when things are Firmly Resolved.

Does not help that some of the character designs reach for the Queen's Blade level of gross, but that obviously goes down to personal tastes.

The only one that I really didn't care for was Rain. Her boobs crossed some kind of threshhold for me, and I'm a man who likes big boobs.
