I haven't been playing video games too much lately, but mobile wise, all I play right now is School Idol Festival. Too addicting. Console wise, slowly beating Mass Effect 1....yeah I joined in late haha.

Eh, loved those part, myself. Always pictured the whole squad not having seatbelts and being thrown around inside that thing, trying hard not to vomit their lunch and taking their anger on any foes that came their way.

Edit : Also, concerning western visual novels, I quite enjoyed the Heileen series, about an english girl going to the new world in the 17th century. You can buy either the het or yuri version of the game for the third installement, which unlock which characters you can romance. Took the yuri version, of course. Was a nice enough story, all in all, though it lacked a bit of "follow through" on some details that could have easily be done.

mostly thinking of the fact that in the third game, Heileen mentioned having her first kiss with one of the guy during the first game even though I made the choice so she kissed a girl at the time. Considering that I took the yuri version, I had hoped it would considered that obvious.

For those who enjoys VN but don't know enough japanese to understand the japanese ones, there's a couple with some yuri in them that are pretty nice to play and that I recommend :

-Long live the queen : a "princess maker" game, you play as a 15 yo princess that need to prepare to be crowned queen. Which means taking classes in various topics and, hopefully, survives the many accidents, attempts and other mishaps than can put an early stop to her reign before it even actually starts. If you play your cards right, you can end up with a yuri ending.

-Magical Diary : you play as a 16yo whitch attending a magical school. You choose which classes to attend to learn spells and succeed the tests along the year (or fail them) all the while making friends and pursuing love if you want so. Two of the potiential love interests are girls. Strongly inspired by harry potter in the setting and some characters. Not as unforgiving as Long live the Queen as you can only lose by getting expelled and has a nice replay value.

Chapter 43 was put before chapter 42.

Well, if I were to choose, I'd rather see Akira & Sae losing. It might not mean they would be out of the story. Them losing to Hitsugi might be exactly what they both need in order to reconsider what they really want and how to achieve their goal. So far, Akira seems to be aiming at the top only to get her father's approval or something. But if she really manage to win the duel, so what ? Losing here might help her see that she has worth on her own and what her father think doesn't matter that much.

Though, as I mentioned in some earlier post of mine, I would kind of love to see Hitsugi rampaging her way back up from the bottom, toying with the lower ranks gleefully for a revenge match. XD But well, her staying at the top would be best in my opinion...

As for KuroxAyana, can't say I really ship them. It's fun from a comedic standpoint, but the idea of them getting actually serious would feel kind of weird. AyanaxYukari does make a bit more sense to me. But what I'd really enjoy is JunjunxSigma ! <3

Well, I feel that more than the slap in itself, it's the context in which it happens that rubs people the wrong way. I mean, Maki just get back home and get slapped across the face before she actually finished saying she's home and just because she enjoys dancing and singing with her friends.

I do think that some characters in anime and manga deserves some slapping, but there, it does set up the father as rather violent/abusing and it's understandable that people would take it this way. Still, taking it as an accurate depiction of a typical japanese family would be pushing too far, in my opinion. ^^

Well, to me it's kind of like NanohaxFate or HomuraxMadoka : Of course it is, so putting a tag would be redundant. XD
Half-kidding. At least, it helps finding them quickly. But I guess it's too heavy on the drama and too light on the nicoxmaki, so this part got kind of lost in the slapfest.

Different teens react erm.... dis-similarly. It can be generalized but ya know... different backgrounds and all that shit...

Of course but...when was the last time you saw an anime character actually stand up against her parents? It is extremely rare. Why? Easy drama.

To be fair, if you take anime and mangas as an example of the "typical japanese family", you end up with that :
-it's common for the childs to live by themselves, with never seeing or getting news from their parents.
-Said parents, if not absent, usually let their kids do as they please, without interfering much with their lives.
-Many parents will eagerly encourage their kids (mostly their sons) to have sex with some girl, or at least be perfectly fine with it.

And I'll stop there because I could keep going for a while. XD

No, seriously, families in manga & anime are rarely depicted in an accurate way, because many of them have teenagers as protagonist and having meddling parents in a non-comical way would get in the way of the story.

I mean, just imagine that in your typical anime : "Mom, dad, I need to go save the world !" "Did you do your homework ?" "But moooom, the world is in danger !" "yeah, yeah, you used that one last time already. Go back to your room and you better finish them properly this time !" worldsplosion!

So, when are we going to see a battle to death between Haru and Akane?

I'm still hoping Akane will emerge victorious, but I doubt it'll come to that...

I mean, when I saw this chapter's title, I was all "cool, a chapter centered on the twins, we might see Akane fawning over Riko again !". Then it started with Riko offering to tutor the two, so I was hoping for some flirtarious/awkward moment between the two. But then, she brought up Haru for some reason... And in the end, the main point of the chapter seems to be Haru confessing (in such a silly and over-the-top way Riko seems to have thought she was just random as usual).

Love that manga, but kind of annoyed me, I wanted some AkanexRiko cuteness, with Aoi cheering for her sis. ;_;

Cute, but somehow, I wish it wasn't so short. They merely just told the other and discuss it with a couple of jokes thrown toward Aya. Felt a bit lacking, I guess. Still nice to see more doujins about Kiniro Mosaic.

Yeah, that duel should be awesome. Still, hope Hitsugi will win, because she's just too awesome. Or, if Akira and Inori win, that they keep the hoshitori going. Could be fun to see Hitsugi going on a rampage from the bottom of the ranking. I can already imagine the utter terror of their low ranking opponents. XD

Kind of surprising how she decided to have the duel public, though, considering how the white uniform's system was supposed to be a big secret or something. Sure, it kind of got out with the last arc, but still.

Also loved Nagi and "dad"'s interaction there. XD Can't wait to see who'll be Nagi's sister in arms. I'm guessing a new first year, considering she seems way too picky to go for one of the remaining lone-wolf.

Yeah, that's pretty much what she's saying. Looks fun, in any case, and the characters looks pretty good, which is nice. I like Takemiya Jin, but her chara design can be a bit all over the place, sometimes.

Also, I think this is a doujin based on Love Live! Looks like Nozomi playing the pocky game with Eri and the "little sister" seems to be Nico barging in on them. :p

As for those who are waiting to put on their yuri goggles for this current series, just give it time—trust me.

Personally, I don't want to have to put on yuri googles in-between the "real het plot", so to say. So if that goes yuri, might endure it for a bit, but frankly, if there will be just a bit of tease between the two main girls before they goes after the guy, I'll just drop it because this kind of developpement just annoy the hell out of me, way more than a story that is just het. At least, those don't get your hopes up before crushing them with a laugh. ><

Too many disappointement already.

@just above : well, I'd say that even though DR is mostly a yuri site, there are still people who enjoy het as well. I don't mind them being there, though I don't read them.

One of the thing that kind of annoys me with that manga is that at first, it was "whoa, Vivio have an adult mode that she can control", like it was something unique. Then Ein came in with one two, but well, she was somehow related to Vivio, so why not...

But then, even Vivio's friend had one because... reasons ? And now, it seems pretty much every loli character out there can turn into an adult as they want. Kind of annoying, really...

A shame, because I really like Vivio as a character (only thing that made Strikers barely worth watching in my opinion), but this manga is kind of ruining both her and the whole setting to me. :/

Think I'll stick with my rule of "there's nothing after nanoha A's." ><

It feels kind of obvious that the two "harem mistress" will go out at some point and that pairing doesn't click with me. Can't get interested in this one, so will pass. :/

Well, kind of make sense. Two tsundere together, that was bound to be popular. XD

Won't complain, as I really like those two, but I'd love to see a bit more about the other girls. And yeah, would love to see some arisaxyukiho doujin as well.
