Someone is jelly.

It just occurred to me, but 5 years from now when someone comes to Dynasty to read what people were saying about this manga at the time, they will be completely flabbergasted at how such an innocuous manga could create such intense reactions.

if this thread learns about butch trans women, he/him lesbians or bio queens it will probably explode

in terms of "oshi", i've usually heard it translated as "fave" but that's in the context of celebrities, and i guess that translation would be kind of an odd word to use for someone you know personally?

I think that's why crush kind of works in context. You wouldn't actually ask your oshi for their number.

Being a 4-page manga, pacing is indeed an issue in this story, but I think that sometimes it is justified to just skip and give incomplete answers to the readers since the answers themselves are trivial. We know at the beginning of the chapter that they did not have a full conversation, because if they did, we’d get to see it. The author is simply skipping the boring parts and leaving it for flashbacks and assumptions which, given the format, is ok imo.

You can't seriously say that these answers are trivial.

The story is ignoring all the tension and conflict that had been building up for several chapters. Whatever conversation happened after Mitsuki asked the question would not only contain the answer to the question but also continuations to many other things: the fact that Mitsuki is a girl, the fact she pretended to be a guy, her reasons for doing so, the distance they kept from each other for a bit, why they care, etc. All of this was built up and none of it is resolved, addressed or developed simply by having us assume Aya said "yes".

Besides, even if we could make assumptions that answer all of these questions, why not show it? You came up with your own headcanon about what happened so even if we assume you're 100% right about the events, wouldn't you still want to see them? We've just been denied a major culmination of this story.

Imagine if in The Lion King, the story went from Simba looking uphill to see the wildebeest stampeding toward him to Simba having already left and we only learn through dialogue that Mufasa died and Scar took over.
This is what just happened in this story.

I don't think that's quite fair. Using the same analogy as the Lion King, last chapter was the death of Mufasa, since the most important point is that Mitsuki apologized and put herself out there for their relationship to be fully open now. What we didn't see was Simba pushing at Mufasa's limp body.

But that's a minor point. Your general problem is fair, but it's kind of the nature of this being only 4 pages a week. I think many of us would love this to be longer chapters, whether that be 30 pages or 15 pages, or even 9 pages a week, but that's not what we have. It seems kind of pointless to complain about the basic nature of the comic, and it's an inevitable aspect of this short length per chapter that some of the information will need to be inferred by the reader.

Why was the chapter posted twice? EDIT: Never mind, fixed.

Doesnt this make Kasane quite an Asshole? At least indirectly... Like, how many times may have she done it already?

Potentially, it depends on how accurate Mimei's observation is. She's not exactly an unbiased source.

The womanizer angle is more interesting than I thought. I hope we get more background on that.

Too many awful men in my yuri, they need to be exterminated.

Better yet, bad writers need to be told to git gud.

It's hard to git gud when tropes = money.

Kinda wondering if Sayaka has always loved Yunimaru (VA) for her work and for who she is, and this death note assignment is partially a guise to secretly “date” her, but Sayaka assumes that Yuni won’t return her feelings, so she plans to confesses then commit suicide. That way she won’t have to live with the rejection and knowledge that her love isn’t mutual (and potential disgust that she has for herself).

That’s my little brain theory, ATM at least.

I was also thinking that she was probably a fan of Yunimaru, but I didn't think she could be in love with her. Neat idea.

I feel like two (grown?) men standing in the entrance to a girls' school and literally saying they'll force girls to come with them against their will is something you ask the police for help with. Or at least get a damn teacher!

It's just a stupid romcom trope. I've seen it in a million het and yuri stories. Apparently there is some kind of common pick up artist subculture in Japan, but the example of this one here is a bit absurd.

To be fair to Yvonne with everyone mentioning how long it took her, she did almost unwillingly murder Elsa a few times. If you really think about it, the stabbing incident on the beach is incredibly traumatic. Her hesitancy makes a lot of sense.

I'm more intrigued by (Potential) Future Elsa saying that Evie won't be bothered by the system for a while. I'm curious why that would be, but that also means it is going to come back eventually. The system acted up before when Evie would try to be affectionate with Elsa, but wouldn't prevent Elsa from being affectionate with Evie. So presumably this is a nice chance for Evie to do something without the warning popping up, or it would be if Evie has the guts for it.

Hinoka is getting surprisingly bold. I dig it. She might be sensing a chance here. Go go surprise confidence!

I usually take the side of the woman no matter what.
Like the saying goes "support women's rights and support women's wrongs too!" I'm like that.
But that woman...
When she tells her husband the truth in ch.1 I couldn't but think "Uwaah... she's the worst."

I think that phrase is supposed to be used when a woman responds to a wrong, not just for a woman being an asshole.

I'm not sure. At least in this forum, I've mostly seen it quoted when some girl cheats on her significant other. Bonus chance points if the SO is a good person who doesn't « deserve it » and the girl is inexcusable by any regular standard.

Maybe I'm not reading the right things since this is the first time I've seen it and then I went and read some articles about it. It seems like it's a real quote, and one of the articles was about reframing women who are villainized by the patriarchy. The metaphor they used was the Salem witch trials.

I get it in a joke context too, like especially if it's your ship that the cheating happens with. But this seems pretty clear cut that the mom is a shit person. Forget the cheating or that she doesn't find her husband manly, that she just up and leaves her daughter is so messed up. Just get a divorce but stay in your child's life, you monster.

Is child abandonment much more common than I think? I feel like half the manga I read has at minimum one of the parents just leave.

Poor professor is just trying to be a good professor, and she is last because of it.

Last for Mei or last for the readers? I think older women types usually have an inherent advantage for readers so they don't need as much shading. And Mei has no clue how she feels about anything so I doubt the professor really is last.

I mean, she's definitely turning down the confession next chapter, just like with Karin. She'll probably do that once with all of them, and then we'll get an arc with the childhood crush/friend.

I feel like this is a cheat. The ghost says to the non ghost, "Why's a ghost being so prissy?". Unless the twist is that the ghost and human exchanged places, this doesn't work.

And if it is the second scenario then I'm still confused.

I'm glad Xiaoen has this stable farm job as the counter to her personality. She's so obviously charming and magnetic that I think it would be too much if she was also some sort of artistic bohemian hippie.

I don't remember if it has been clearly stated before, but I always assumed Xiaoen is a born and raised farm girl whose roots in peach orchard managing run generations deep. It never occurred to me that she could be an artist from the bohemian milieu who ended up working in Peachtown because reasons.

Well, whatever the case, this chapter dispels any doubt. Look at her finding some bum in her farm and going "GIT OFF MY PROPERTY!" on his ass.

Just vibe-wise she comes off as artistic and bohemian to me, but you're right she isn't.

Anyways, super cute chapter. Mr. Bai read the subtext real well. I looked back at chapter 9 and he really didn't have a lot to go off of. Expertly played.

Shouldn't this have a "what the fuck did I just read" tag? Cause that's what I thought at the end.

I hope this ends up making some sense lol
Why would future Elsa want to drug Evie? At least the present Elsa had some misgivings.

Maybe to help Evie get past a mental block? She says that the potion's effects haven't fully worn off, but that may not be the case. Maybe they have fully worn off, and now Evie is more aware than ever how much she physically wants Elsa. Future Elsa can reveal that through a disguise or something and push the ship forward.

That's my delusional head canon until contradicted next chapter.

Oh hey, I did it call it! Nice. Let's hope there's no denying it next chapter.

New chapter is up on MD....
and it's another chapter where it feels as if a chapter was missing? Or a few pages? Is there any chance they are actually missing, as they were released in some other place as part of a promotion or sth?

I mean, there's no real transition from the previous chapter to this one, but I feel like this chapter is pretty clear, it's just the order of events is not chronological.

Presumably, it's
1) After work event
2) Mom gets drunk
3) Auntie Ren takes her back with a taxi to her place
4) Youzi opens the door to Ren holding up Youzi's mom.

Except, in the chapter 4 and 3 are switched so that we end on some subtle flirting.

Radiohead is cool and all but it doesn't compare to the original Prince version of Creep - https://youtu.be/42-RBnhiYkA

I feel like one of them is due for a makeover and I'm not sure which. Let's see how this "friendship" goes...

When you say "original Prince version" you mean "Prince cover", right? Because otherwise it doesn't make much sense.

Has the author mentioned at all how long they expect the series to be? I could actually see it ending soonish with them being friends and not getting into a full romance.

I would personally find that an extremely unsatisfying ending.

Just noticed she blushed straight through to her ears. The universal manga sign of FEELINGS. YEARNING.
