Nitpick: 300 million yen isn't quite enough to not work for the rest of your life in a city and also pay for a second person for that same time period unless you also invest it.

You reasonable, well-meaning people are missing an important point: the MC doesn't plan to live 40 or 50 years on that money. It's a plot point already established that she believes she has used up all her life's luck and thinks there's a good chance she will be struck down by lightning tomorrrow.... so she doesn't plan to save for her old age: she wants to SPLURGE and live high on the hog!
I'm certain that the role the 'thot' will play in this story is to help the MC spend money like an oil tycoon and enjoy the good things in life. As for how long the 300 million yen will last—and what will happen when the MC finds herself stone broke—your guess is as good as mine.
My guess: the two girls will fall in love, so thot-chan won't leave the penniless MC (and look for another sugar mommy) as would normally be the case, but will instead stick to her and the two will live happily ever after. Because romantic comedy, right?

How about this, the ho takes everything and scrams like the golddigger she is, then lottery woman finds a homely girl who really cares about her and deserves her love, and in this way she learns looks aren't everything.

i think you're right, the umbrellas actually have been swapped by the end. glasses puts her in and we clearly see it is the only white-handled one in there and then immediately after that the dude takes it. the next one we see is itsuki leaving and taking a white handled one, which she presumably put there on her arrival (off screen). it seems like the guy only knows itsuki, so presumably he took glasses' umbrella, thinking he recognised it as itsuki's, and at the end gives it to itsuki telling her it's hers.

anyway, it was a fun lil story

horny shizuku is so great, in part because i think she's sorely in need of more characterisation beyond 'actor'.

so it seems like it's more or less a retelling of the anime story? not quite so interested in that as i would be in a new story...but probably still gonna keep up with it

in terms of accuracy i have no idea, don't even know what aquariuses are meant to be like tbh. i meant more that she just comes off as a bit of a creep in this chapter

this is amazing so far, the art is really expressive! kinda reminds me of tatsubon's work

'mistaken for a guy' stories i can usually take or leave, but i do love a good dual identity story!

I don't mind the story going off the happy rails sometimes, but it always irks me when the narration straight up is telling you in detail it's about to happen. I bet you could omit this internal monologue, change nothing in the story (whatever the followup may be since I didn't read ahead) and it would just be better.

yeah i don't mind that in general it just seemed like it was going a different way that i think might actually have been more interesting. i'm not writing it off or anything.

also, yes i agree that that narrative device is pretty lame. can't be bothered with subtlety or foreshadowing? just have the narrator explicitly tell the reader things are about to get bad instead!

honestly at this point i couldn't even recall what the whole backstory with hiiragi and tsubaki was, or rather what exactly went down between them. luckily a few people already summarised it earlier.

i like that yatsude is portrayed here as trying to be a decent and supportive person without being turned into a cliche 'wise friend' who fixes everything with glib sayings.

it's not really clear, i think. she may have loved her romantically or 'only' as a best friend. there doesn't even have to be a hard distinction there, especially for a teenager who might not know their own feelings completely.

this whole series has been really excellent - sometimes sweet, sometimes sad but always well done. i'm not exactly an expert on the masterworks of painting but i really enjoyed it. it's always good to see an original idea well executed. i think i'm gonna re-read her other works next!

it says alcohol poisoning, so i'm guessing it was acute toxicity rather than long term abuse

that's the 'myth', that yuri does not sell copies. it's certainly a much smaller market than yaoi or het.

i think my enjoyment of this will largely depend on it not getting too dark, which in turn will largely depend on what happened to her actual older sister. if she's dead shit is gonna get freaky fast.

kasumi x arisa is the best, naturally, but the arc in the original anime where saaya is convinced to join the band does have some very nice kasumi x saaya moments that could have you wondering.

The little festival/student council mini-arc was really fun, Kamu as president in particular is bound to be good for a lot of funny moments. It's nice that Tama is getting a bit more attention as well, she tends to be stuck in the comic relief position a lot but she's always been one of my favorites. I hope the author will actually go a bit deeper into her apparent jealousy.

yeah i saw the anime of this first and tama was so great in that, definitely one of my faves, but it does feel like she hasn't had much to do lately in the manga
