But I guess the husband lied about visiting his stepfather, he's probably going to his mistress.

And I think it's much more likely he was telling the truth.

Oh, and stepfather is a mistranslation. To Kaoru he's her father-in-law.

^ There's multiple points of new things we learned in the chapter.

It's not even slow, just a medium paced drama manga.

If there could be more manga that realistically explored some of the interesting stuff to do with tachi, neko and riba roles, I get the feeling that some of you would probably interpret it as bullshit that could only have been made up by a straight person.

Though I laughed really hard when I saw Yuzu's book. Never noticed it the first time, but I swear the "LA" part that was crossed out could have meant "The strategy book!! To be happy and get laid by Mei" ROTFL

It means Yuzu wasn't sure how to spell "love".

Chapter 16, the latest raw, announced the next will be the last. Volume 3 is coming out right after.

In the afterword of volume 1, Nishi writes that one day they suddenly felt like doing a manga about fighting games in Yuri-Hime, so phoned up and that led to the serialization. In vol 2, they answer the common question of why they thought to do it in YH. Apparently Nishi conceived of it as becoming very yuri if it reached the end. Trouble was the characters were all so absorbed with fighting games their relationships only change very slowly (so it's basically that thing of characters writing themselves). Nishi would have wanted to be able to write the story longer, even as far as a Vegas arc, but is surprised (and thankful) YH gave as much freedom as the manga had.

To be honest with how slowly it's progressing (so far nearly all of it feels just like some build-up to something ^^; ) I would've expected more than three volumes, too, but apparently that's just how the manga is ...

It was cancelled. It had a year and a half to wrap up (source: http://tomoki.yukishigure.com/diary.htm 2017/03/22), but it wasn't paced originally for 3 volumes.

But dang, they're really letting anyone do a Citrus anthology, huh?

Apart from Yuino Chiri's, all the manga are by people who have worked or are working for Yuri-Hime on something else.

And this doesn't count as doujinshi since it's work for a commercial publisher.

It's relatively rare in yuri and it is probably right to think it's usually due to the influence of BL on shipping. Almost all BL is made with a seme x uke dynamic being something the creator at least has in mind.

However, if yuri were more commonly made by people who are involved in Japanese lesbian dating (like bars, clubs, dating sites, etc.) and were trying to depict that experience realistically, then that would mean more works where the characters themselves deal with the issue of their "sexuality" on the tachi-neko spectrum. Occasionally there are nods to that stuff, but there's little yuri that actually deals with it as though the author has experience with it.

Mei's change of heart to decide out of her own will that she wanted to succeed her grandfather as chairperson was in chapter 8.

  • a final chapter is always announced in the previous issue of YH with the word "climax": クライマツクス, it was the case for NTR, and other series which ended last year when they were listed on the preview page
  • a final chapter is always listed as a climax in the issue where it is published on the final cover of the magazine. Citrus is listed on the ongoing series.

Both those things are a case of "sometimes", not "always".

Also Rikako complains of stomach pains just a page or so before Yuuri is shown with the tests.

Just to be clear about that, she's shown dumping them as Rikako having her period was enough to reassure her already.

Good story with pretty art. I enjoyed most of it but, like others said, there were a few confusing parts... like, for one, why did Yuuri have all those pregnancy tests anyway?

Because she was anxious about whether Rikako had got herself pregnant and would have wanted her to check.

How did she introduce girls to her before if she only found out jsut then?

She was saying she would have introduced her to girls if she'd been told earlier.

The title was basically the Japanese for "anaerobic exercise" with "exercise" replaced with "romance", so it probably would have been better translated as Anaerobic Romance.

The thing that really irked me while reading this were the failed attempts at humor and slapstick, which were really jarring with the drama plot. I mean, was anything about Yagi being addlebrained and putting Mado through the things she did put her through funny? I think that is one thing I've found not to like about the author's more recent works.

That doesn't sound like 2DK, which is what Osawa has been doing for the last couple of years, so presumably you're thinking of what's just recently translated.

Rukoroichi!!! <3
What is the author up to nowadays? Still drawing Yuri or no longer?

She used different names for different categories (青目黒 for Teens Love) and it's not easy to tell how long ago her works originally came out, but I don't think she's released any new manga for at least a couple of years.

Great to see she is still active.

She isn't. This is from several years ago.

I enjoyed the 3rd volume, even if the ending did feel a little tacked on. But given that the series was cancelled on short notice, I'm glad she got to write and draw an ending at all.

Its cancellation was decided relatively early, based on sales of volume 1. If sales had been worse it probably would have been made to end without even 2 coming out.

Was that story in a YH issue?

Yeah, issue 33.

Minami saw her romances with boyfriends as being "give and take", where she would ask for stuff from them and they would want sex from her, but it wasn't like she was engaged in prostitution/enjo-kosai. And Miki wasn't trying to stop her doing even that: Minami was single anyway at that point.

So I imagined it. Is there some similar one shot?

Maybe you had read Friedman's rather inaccurate description of it.

I'm sure I read this on Dynasty once but it's not under the authors work. It's by Chisako and called either Yokubou Parade or Parade of Desires. Girl sells her body in order to use the money to buy pricey goods. Another girl comes along and tells her if she stops prostituting herself she'll buy her all the stuff she wants. Am I dreaming?

She wasn't exactly prostituting herself.

I don't know whether it's been translated into English, but Yokubou Parade certainly exists and it's in the tank Wagamama Mille-feuille.

Yeah, but I'm asking if they're the same. They look similar. Maybe she just asks different when at concerts.

They're clearly not the same. A scene with Chiba is between scenes where Lena is wearing her gothloli outfit, all taking place in a short period of time, during and right after one gig.

joined Mar 15, 2017

Lena and Chiba-san are one in the same, right??

Also, yes or no??

The gothloli is Lena. She was talking about herself by name.

Also, with 11/14 chapters having no end of plot (or even the middle of plot) in sight, what are the chances this series was axed?

The way it ends, it was almost certainly a case of cancellation. Especially the serialization ended at chapter #13 and the tank then had an extra chapter numbered as #18.

^ It was a one-shot in Gallete issue 1, then it became a serialization starting in issue 3. Issue 5, which is being released at Comitia tomorrow, will have chapter 4.
