Sorry to everyone else for the rant, I'm gonna drop this now, because it's mostly off topic at this point, but nah, man, people have a responsibility to try and make their language clear, but the reader ALSO has a responsibility to try and take what they said in context in good faith, to seek understanding, not pelt them with nitpicks. Language isn't a competitive sport, you don't get points for dishonestly picking apart somebody's phrasing.

The amount of helpful personal advice and guides to righteous behavior generated on behalf of fictional characters by Dynasty readers is truly formidable.

I suspect that in most cases the advice is based on fictional experience, so it all comes out in the wash.

Love how this manga has gone from a how-far-can-we-push-this-one-joke comic (which I thoroughly enjoyed, btw) to a complex comic with complicated characters dealing with complicated issues. Hope the mangaka can continue keeping the quality high.

And I'm on Team Hiroko now more than ever. I hope she figures out some way to achieve career and personal happiness.

Me three. I think Hiroko's being a pretty big idiot, sure, but I can understand where she's coming from.

Well, yeah. But go figure. All we ever have is the image of people we build in our mind, based on the "them" they present to us. And almost inevitably, we fall for people before our successive approximations from seeing them in many situations get very reliable. You fall in love based on the information you have, not the information you want.

And even independent of that, yuri stories featuring protagonists who fall in love for completely shallow and/or superficial reasons make up like half of this site.

Thing about Hiroko is: She's very different from your typical yuri protagonist.

Most yuri protagonists are basically interchangeable with a wide class of other yuri protagonists. There are the tomboy-ish "prince" characters, the bubbly genki girls, the studious bookworms, the ice princess class presidents, and on and on.

But I've never seen a character like Hiroko. She's a breath of fresh air.

And because I am an old fart with lots of experience in both life and love, I can remember the times when I, too, crippled myself and my romantic efforts by needlessly second-guessing myself. That fear that, no matter what I do, it's probably going to be wrong and I'm gonna blow it and ruin everything.

So I can relate to what Hiroko's going through, and have a lot of sympathy and empathy for her. And I am looking forward to the moment when the wall finally cracks and reality comes rushing in. Hopefully the mangaka can pull it off with aplomb.

It happens a lot in fiction. I don't know if it exists irl. Probably not.

Oh, it happens in real life, too.

Had a couple of co-workers at a restaurant I worked at years ago who were like this. He thought she was an uptight bitch. She thought he was a rude dick. And neither one was shy about letting the other one (and everybody else in earshot) know. Constantly sniping and snarking at one another. The one I remember was when she was complaining about what a fuck-up he was as a waiter, and he told her it was a good thing she was pretty because she was fucking worthless for anything else. She waited until the end of the night after all the customers had left and dumped a whole pitcher of iced tea on his head.

But then we'd have the occasional party after work, or we'd all go to a bar. And once they had enough liquor in 'em, they'd wind up in a private corner somewhere having a snog. And then they'd go to his place or her place and grudgefuck each other's brains out.

This happened, oh, four or five times. And the acrimony between them never thawed. In fact, after the second time, the guy said he would piss her off on purpose because he thought it made the sex better.

And then he quit and got a job somewhere else out of the restaurant business, and that was the end of that.

Sometimes physical attractiveness and raw animal magnetism can overcome a wide variety of personality sins.

I seem to recall Kase mentioning that she never had a girlfriend before Yamada, and that she'd tried to get close to other girls but it never worked before Yamada.

I thought it had been mentioned in the chapter where Kase and Yamada eat crepes on the roof of the school and talk about Kase's relationship with Inoue-senpai. But apparently not.

Hey guys, just so you know, I was interested in this series a couple months ago and bought the raws up to volume 2 (volume 3 just released) and if you're annoyed by Hiroko's complete inability to understand the words "I'm in love with you," I suggest you either drop this now or wait for all the chapters to release so you can read it all in one shot, because it just gets so, so much worse.

Man, if I wanted to sit down and write a story deliberately designed with no other purpose than to drive the readers of Dynasty Scans absolutely out of their minds, it would be this story. Bonus points if the story ends with Ayaka hooking up with a guy after 15 chapters of Hiroko being increasingly improbably oblivious to Ayaka's advances.
