That is just how Shaft animates their shows. When they can't put a lot animations, instead they make each shot as dynamic and memorable as possible. Or even if it isn't time and money issue, that is just their style of animations.

I get that, although I think saying Arakawa Under the Bridge isn't surreal is pretty odd though. The humour and characters of that show were plenty surreal to me.

Also Shaft would be a poor choice for Kakegurui. The reason Shaft's works are like that was because the source material itself was surreal to begin with, and so their particular way of animating goes well with that surrealism. Speaking of which, I'm still eagerly waiting for the confirmation of who Fate/Extra's protagonist will be.

I could wax lyrical all about the yuri moment in Volume 6 of kakegurui. The way her relationship with the president was focused on itself was great since it was set up much earlier than the actual competition: at the start of the previous match with the idol before the "president" left. The gambling this time around is also unique in the sense that it's not an easy black vs white scenario like the others where the student council member is either too crazy or too deplorable in their goals or too much of a jerk that you obviously will still cheer for Yumeko; it's easier to cheer for Sayaka compared to the others due to the fact that her reason for wanting to win doesn't necessary target Yumeko to make her miserable (the initial bet was just for the council's sake) and also because Sayaka is much more normal compared to the other eccentric student council members. Then there's the buildup, the flashbacks, using that particular flashback before she said her last words before jumping. There's also the fact that if you think about it, there was no point to this entire gamble and it's pretty certain that the president knew Sayaka was going to lose (hinted at early on), but she also had enough faith in her to still pick the "right solution" at the end (also hinted at); therefore the only possible reason (at least so far) that the president did all this was to show Sayaka why she liked her to begin with by making her make that final decision. No normal person would do things like this but it's certainly something that president would do based on how she was characterized, so it makes perfect sense. There's so many layers to it and it's accompanied by great art. A+ amazing yuri.

Crazy gambling manga is getting an anime adaptation!

It's getting an anime? I hope the crazy faces are going to be as good as in the manga.

Just like anime adaptations such as One-punch man, the anime has to step-up their visual fidelity in order to match up with the quality of the manga since the manga's art is incredibly good.

Also the yuri in Volume 6 was probably one of the best yuri I've seen in recent times. The pacing and execution of the events (especially near the end) combined with the art made it amazing. I've never enjoyed a manga like this one; I love it.

Seems to be just a shitty kids show... then again... some shitty kids show gain popularity somehow.

Ah, I love the irony together with the seeming lack of self-awareness. Thanks internet, you did it again.

So after finishing Shadows of Pygmalion, I have to say -- This pretty much is the equivalent of Madoka Magica if not better in terms of the story, but it's also definitely much gayer. So buy it, play it, it's fantastic.

that ending though, we all came back to the main character becoming god again and saving the world. Great character development on her part; that was great to see.

Isn't this just a parody of the usual trope of "prodding some parts of another person's brain will somehow give you control over them"? Like what was said in the comment above, this was also used in Hunter x Hunter.

I appreciate the picture in the background as an extra detail.

Also, this is pretty much canon insofar as Hakunon did push her down onto the bed and they almost did it before Rin interrupted them by calling

When Ano freaks out and blushes after that choice, my heart fluttered.

:(

Illusion of choice. Illusion of choice. Illusion of choi--

Could've had two friends who could see ghosts help each other out and naturally get closer. Heck, she already was helping Yuna out even without knowing the context. Sigh.

And it's never coming West (I'm guessing)... how unfair.

If it's ever going to get localized, it's most likely PQube who are going to do it. They localized both Steins;Gate 0 and Psycho-Pass, both of which are 5pb. developed games like this one. It probably depends on the series' popularity since .5pb did a bunch of console games based off of anime and only those two got localized.

It probably would end up like this one though and not get localized (which is also by .5pb -- released last year):

What is the gameplay of the PS4/Vita game or is it just a VN?

"During Training Parts, your more experienced co-workers teach you and you learn skills. Your training parameters will change depending on which co-workers teach you.

The story will advance during Adventure Parts. You’ll be able to enjoy conversations with your co-workers and friends, and your friendships can change based on your responses. In the second half of the game, you can enjoy the individual episodes of the co-workers you became friends with in the previous parts, as well as trigger character routes."

So I guess it's divided into two parts with one of them being the visual novel portion.

EDIT: You'll be playing as Aoba by the way, in case anyone was worried it was going to be some random new character.

...?!

Phew, I'm glad then that "handjob allusion" completely went over my head and will be something that I'll never be able to understand. It feels nice to have a detached and relaxed viewing experience.

Only nitpick I have with the game is the illusion of choice it gave you. For example, one conversation led to this choice:

Ano

Hina

Whatever you choose doesn't matter since it's going to set you down a linear path (not even in the Telltale kind of linear). That's completely fine, except setting up expectations like that and then disappointing the player really leaves a bad aftertaste. Oh well, it's fairly good and the price is cheap for this kind of length for a VN. There are worse ways to spend your money.

I like her just because Persona 3 made a whole lot more sense playing as her. I can easily buy into the idea that this cheerful, upbeat girl is a social butterfly with all those social links rather than this aloof guy; it feels more natural. She has more dialogue options, better soundtrack, and better social links. It's just a better overall experience even without the yuri that was added in.

^That's because Persona 1 and the two Persona 2 games might as well not exist with the huge gap in popularity between them and Persona 3 onwards.

I was referring more to this recent picture when I say she's been forgotten:

"Yeah! Shigenori Soejima drew all of the Persona protagonists, right?! Th-that's all of them, right?!"

"..."

A moment of silence for the protagonist that Atlus seemingly forgot about after they made the game. Doesn't even have a canonical name.

Hah, that Psycho Pass visual novel is coming to steam anyways. Called it.

No hype for Danganronpa v3. One of the few times I was glad I spoiled myself. That bait and switch with the female protagonist (and the entire cast actually) is pretty awful. I was afraid they were going to do that, but I was still hopeful.

the statement "the author's own interpretation is not the only correct one" is not logically equivalent to "all interpretations of a fictional work are equally valid".
