I hadn't read the first chapter so I just binged both. This made me smile uncontrollably. This is such a delightful fucking story. Nothing can blemish this purity.

Spending a lot of time on Dynasty Reader, I sort of forget that people are staunchly against certain things. We all just love gay shit, regardless of what it is. Even shitty characters get love from us because we see all of this as fiction/fantasy and consume as such rather than treating it as an irl thing.

I recently got into the Incredibles 2 fandom and it has a lot of controversial stuff going through the pairings: underage, incest, cheating, hero/villain, etc. One of the more prominent artists, Yamino, produces a series of comics set in an AU where Stratogale, a superhero from the first film, is dating Elastigirl. There's an entire group of people that troll the tag warning people away from Yamino's work because she used to do Elsanna art back in the day. Then, there's another section yelling at people for shipping Voyd and Violet (who are probably not that far apart in years anyway). When I tried defending people's ability to ship what they want, I got called a pedophile and lots of other horrible names.

Anyway, that thing I'm wondering here is how do we, as the Dynasty Reader community, view these subjects? We have our own incest, pseudo-incest, cheating, and age gap tags and people actively seek those tropes, and yet a lot of the world demonizes them. Is there a difference with these subjects between real life and fiction? Is the fantasy of it appealing while it in real life is unthinkable? Do the people here even separate the two? I'd like as many opinions as possible in the comments. Also, this is my first forum post so please let me know if I'm in the wrong category or if this is an inappropriate discussion to have on the website.

Moe and Hikari are my favorite. The best friend trope is one of the absolute best, and they're so sweet and friendly with each other. This series really seems to have something for everyone. I also love how the different couples interact with each other. It feels like a genuine community without creating love triangles or anything like that.

You know we live in a good time when fanart of two girls kissing is tagged as spoilers.

Rui's the worst. Her and her mother are shitty enablers. And we have Rui to thank for seeing Ayako in a dress.

lolicon tag?

Why would it? Isn't lolicon/shotacon about older characters with kids? These are two equal-aged kids and it also isn't explicit. But, I also don't know if severity of encounter affects whether or not it's lolicon. I don't like either genre. This just felt really tame to me.

This one really affected me. I'm 25 and walk through life eating ramen and expecting fate to fall in my lap, just like I did when I was in high school. I had my first job only two years ago and I was too slow for the work. I feel An on such a personal level. This story gives me hope for the future.

I agree about the font. I'd much prefer typical manga font. The art's also kinda weird. The style reminds me of the style that looks like drawn-over photos. The shot on the last page that's the close-up of Pearl's face is really good, but the rest of it just looks off to me. Otherwise, I'm definitely a fan of this story. Love those aftercare scenes to death. I think there's a movie called After Sex that is just a string of vignettes depicting couples after intercourse. Good shit, I tell ya.

Kagami is adorable. I like the direction this is taking, and it seems a little more fleshed out than other world-based narratives. Events happen slowly and naturally. Using the letter as a form of narrative summary was good not only because it was a believable form of catch-up that the MC would us, but also because the letter was used for plot. That's good writing and a great way to advance the narrative and do a time-jump/montage at the same time. All the characters are cute af and I can't wait to see the gay leak from it like a bag of boiled rice.

If people see this as subtext, they clearly don't know what subtext is. These characters are not family, they are not friends, I don't even think they're really classmates. But the protag says, explicitly in text, "I love her." That, my friends, is not subtext. It doesn't need to be a physical expression of affection, and it does not need to be reciprocated. If you're looking for subtext, look at any of the major "yuri" series like K-On!, Final Fantasy XIII, and the like. They have heavy subtext, where characters are close and whose situations would be viewed as romantic if the characters were opposite sexes. This story, regardless of how satisfying the ending is or isn't, is yuri. I'd say we're rather fortunate to live in a day and age where there are enough yuri works to argue about whether or not it's gay enough. I used to be satisfied with shows like Kim Possible and Bleach, filling in the subtextual blanks with fanfiction.

I haven't cried like this for a while. Instant favorite. The art is gorgeous and it feels so real. The adult life tag just hits me so hard, man. The sculptures, the theme of warmth in the winter, how natural their relationship was; oh, god, I'm crying again. This story is so beautiful I can't believe it. I don't know what else to say.

And it updates once again! This is my favorite story on the site. This chapter was so gorgeous, but so much white space and just sorta... nothing, I guess? It solidifies the ex's presence in the story, and now I'm scared for the girl, but I doubt the ex would do anything horrible. Maybe. She might bring legal stuff into this. Naaah, this story isn't that dramatic, right?

Someone mentioned earlier that Akira's inclusion was great as an antagonist, only to leave before that person's predictions came true. I hope this thread doesn't go down the same inconclusive holes. Like what others are saying, this isn't about to turn het just because Jun's coming clean. This creates a dilemma (which Akira should've been) that makes Ayako consider the full extent of her feelings for her daughter. This is a good conflict, and one that won't lead to het. The Focus of the story is clearly motherxdaughter incest and I don't think it'll turn from that at any point. It is good that it leaves us guessing, though, because it makes it more tense and intriguing.

Would it be illegal if I use the plot for a school play IRL? Lmao

Right? Omg, I love this play so much. It's such a cool idea. I also did a one-act play recently and it's nowhere near as neat as this.

Omfg, I feel that QCer. I cried right https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/young_dumb_and_free#22 here. And then I cried again grabbing this link. This is so powerful and beautiful. Can't believe it took me this long to find this mangaka. Now I get to wait for the third chapter with everyone else! I don't even watch this show and it's so beautifully written and executed that I'm emotionally invested regardless. This is how you're supposed to do doujin. Stunning.

It's interesting how I avoid doujins like the plague here on Dynasty Reader. I stick exclusively to original works unless it's a series I like, and I don't watch KanColle, any of the idol animes, and a lot of the other more popular series. But, I go to the website E-hentai quite frequently and I don't have that same stigma over there. I'll read all the doujins, though I guess because I'm there for a different reason. Thing is, I'm always looking for a romantic story and this seriously took me by surprise. Not to mention it's by Sexy Akiba Detectives (not a group you see often on e-hentai). Reading it there made me look it up here and talk about a different reception. The comments for trans/futa manga are always interesting (and often problematic). I'm thankful for e-hentai for introducing me to stuff like this. There's actually a lot of doujins for anime I haven't seen that I adore, but I wouldn't have read them if I only saw them here. There's probably a lesson in all of that. Regardless, this story is very cute, and I honestly think the sex adds a lot to the narrative. The scene where Kanade gets on top feels very emotional, and was a powerful moment to me. I don't think this story would be the same without the sex scenes.
