I adore these two so much. The way mc sees past her veneer and still falls for senpai's genuinely good heart... after all the gushy needy drooling on senpai's part. It's so sweet. They make each other so happy

Okay so the show is super fun for those who love snarky characters and wanna see Wednesday girlboss around. The dudes are cute and I don't hate them. I think the queer community is just unfairly biased against straight romances that aren't mindblowingly well written. I think the straight romances are fine, if a bit boring. It's cute watching Wednesday being herself and thinking "ah, I like her" and she never actually shows any interest in them (just from the 4 episodes I've watched so far).

As for Enid and Wednesday's chemistry, they're mostly just cool buddies and Enid pulls Wednesday along for some fun shit and Enid puts her foot down when Wednesday is being too bitchy. They're great, but nothing is really sparking romantically if that makes sense. I still love them though because the idea of the deadpan goth chick x golden retriever sunny rainbow girl is divine

OOOOo that was cool. I'd def remove the tragedy tag though since the story doesn't have a necessarily bad ending, but a grayer one with an uplifting tone.

I don’t really care that we haven’t seen Mai too much? I think Mai’s plot thread is very interesting, but I also love Nanao’s. I have faith the author hadn’t forgotten Mai but I don’t think stories have to rigidly follow the initial motivations of the main character to be compelling. Just because Mai isn’t the focus doesn’t mean the story has no direction or plot (and therefore uncompelling), it just means our current plot is Nanao. I think Nanao has followed the themes of the story perfectly. Asumi, due to a crush, goes on to break out of her shell and become a lesbian brothel enjoyer. Nanao, due to a crush, goes on to break blah blah you get it. I am wholeheartedly down for growing the lives of Asumi, and I desperately hope the author spends time on Mai as well, before having them meet. It would be so much more complicated and entertaining than “oh i guess we do like each other wanna go out?”

I love it when authors are completely unhinged and uninhibited with their horniness. It's why I love mochi so much. Amen

Romanticizing teen and college years when those years are so confusing, awkward, and fumbly is truly the adult experience.

Honestly virgin's empire is just an entire series about girls growing from being more reductive, insecure, untrue selves into their full beautiful secure gay selves and I love Kishi Torajirou for that. Everything rings so true emotionally. Just look at Onoda or Ai or Honoka or Nonononononono-senpai. They're all on their ways to beautiful domestic bliss with their wives. Amen the power of gay.

SAHHHASKFDHDSLJFLDSJFSLJ MY GIRL MIO AND SHIZUKA FINALLY GET SOME AND THE EMOTIONAL SECURITY AND LOVE AND MOVING ON FOR REAL-- I just. These two have come a long way, from being one of the shallowest relationships to one of the deepest and most tested of all. I wish these two a strong and trusting future.

Oh wow this definitely took a turn for the more disturbing. Aizawa was visually drawn with some serious dark vibes this chapter, like malicious not just to the guy but potentially to the main character. She did act out when the mc showed some of her social skills improving. It feels like associating with Aizawa may not be that good for the main character after all if it turns out she’s not just a goofball but actually acts like an evil spirit, going haywire and being legitimately physically threatening (as we’ve begun to hint at with the paper cut) whenever something triggers her. Makes me wonder how much of the full/real Aizawa is here and whether becoming a ghost had changed her disposition in any way. Mc also brings up a question as to what exactly is binding Aizawa to the classroom.

Asakura's a nice one, which is why I think things won't go well for her

Her face on the last page was so sweet. She's wholesome that way and only gives good vibes. I don't think there's any end pair that will truly bother someone like her who gets so much happiness and joy just from supporting the person she likes financially. She's a chad v-tuber fan after all who's content getting a shoutout for donating 50 dollars XD

I can’t wait for the tsun to melt and we get full deredere from Evie.. I want a chapter so sweet it rots my teeth tbh.

Does something like that happens in the novels ? These Chinese works always make me fearful of them remaining subtext due to censorship laws and whatnot

Yeah don’t worry this is full on gay shit. they kiss on the mouth in the novel

Anyone else’s interest and excitement for this series slowly evaporating away? For some reason the recent chapters lack the serotonin the first few gave me. The premise was so strong and cute but I feel the recent chapters lacked punch and emotional development between the two characters. We also got no real interior lives and don’t really know much about either of them past Aya feeling like music is something she can only partake in by herself.

I find this manga so endearing. Senpai has absolutely nothing going on up there except stupid thoughts. She’s so stupid. I love her.

I thought this manga was purposely all about abusing overplayed tropes

Don’t be mislead. The next will chapter begin with her chadly confessing anyways.

Lmao, anyone else notice Kanon’s fucking hairpin changing with her expression. That pin has more personality than some anime protagonist

I DIDNT BUT THATS HILARIOUS. I’m so glad you pointed it out

This is such an awesome premise. I love to see what kind of person the MC has become living such a twisted life, repeating over and over again with an inability to forget. I'd imagine she has a much harder time moving on from the past and holds onto the past much tighter than other people because she can recall and relive things much more vividly.

^^Couldn't they do it with the main two girls at least? And I also don't see the problem with having tagged ships that aren't ironed down. Virgin's empire has characters who have ship tags with different girls, like onibi x mask or onibi x nao

Um…doesn’t this chapter more or less imply she knows now? Or did I misunderstand? I thought I’d see more people freaking out.

On the third page when we see MC’s face, we’re actually x-raying through the mask. So basically it was less Aya realizing the weird girl at the school and her onii-san are the same person, and more of her realizing the weirdo with the mask is onii-san

I don't get why authors do this sorta "spoiler" for their own work ... I can't think of a single instance where it improved any sort of narrative. Just takes away any sort of curiosity about how things will work out.

It’s the same way dramatic irony works. The readers know something’s up while the characters remain ignorant, which adds tension as we brace for an impact we know is coming. Shifts the tone a little, gives us a heads up so twists and changes don’t feel like they’re cheaply coming out of no where, and makes us wonder what exactly is going to happen that makes it all go downhill.
