Lily Love - By the same person that writes and draws Pulse. If you liked Pulse, you'll probably like this one. Not exactly adult life, but they're in college, so also not the typical high school story either.

Something about this chapter felt strange to me. Is it a mood I don't recognize? Or was it just lacking something I see all the time in other yuri manga? My gut is sensing something different.

Is it because it's two mature adults just starting to fall in love, rather than immature adults or high-school teenagers?

It's an established relationship. We don't see the usual build-up, because all that happened off-screen. We're coming in at a later stage in the game than the usual "Love blossoms between two girls!" kind of yuri.

Kase's first name is Tomoka (see start of vol2), though it wouldn't really be "Kase-san" if they just kept first naming her all the time. First names will most likely be end game, most likely prior/after/during their inevitable first sexytimes.

But, I mean, is it common in Japan to refer to someone you've been dating for 6 months by only their last name? I just think about how weird it would be if my girlfriend were to call me by my last name all the time.

In fact, everybody calls them by their last names, including Yamada's friend and all of their classmates. The only person we see calling Yamada by her first name is her mother.

Man, I loved this. All of it. Just read it for the first time, and it was amazing. Straight into my favorites list, and I will definitely re-read it again in the future. Just so sweet and fluffy and cute and romantic.

The only thing, though: It's cute that Yamada is so naive and all, but sometimes she comes across as a complete sexual blank who has never once thought about sex at all prior to hooking up with Kase-san, and it can be a little jarring. But I still loved the series and hope there will be more in the future.

I think there are over 130 different characters in Kancolle. Lots of Gay Boats to choose from.
