Have you looked at the Pairings listing for Kancolle? It's like 30-40 entries. Why does this series have so many ships?

I think there are over 130 different characters in Kancolle. Lots of Gay Boats to choose from.

Some form natural pairings (Kaga x Akagi, Tenryuu x Tatsuta, Nagato x Mutsu), but a whole bunch of the others can be shipped pretty freely.
